Position Overview: Senior Principle Scientist, Lab Head, Non-viral Gene therapy, Genomics Medicine Unit
We are seeking a well-established Sr. Principle Scientist to join Sanofi Genomics Medicine Unit to lead the development of non-viral gene therapy platform technology for the treatment of liver centric, ocular and neuromuscular genetic diseases
Lead the development of non-viral gene therapy strategies and manage research for the treatment of liver centric, ocular and neuromuscular genetic diseases
Responsible for applying scientific expertise and judgement to initiate, design, direct and execute experiments and/or studies in support of research and/or development project goals in a time sensitive manner.
Act as a hands-on contributor and impactful team leader to advance GMU research and transversal programs
Apply state of the art scientific and gene therapy industry knowledges to develop new gene expression systems and novel gene delivery technologies
Foster creativity, productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, teamwork, accountability, cross-functional collaboration, and employee growth and development.
Work across R&D organization to identify adequate skill sets/resources to ensure progress programs in a timely manner
Develop and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
PhD in Molecular Biology, or a related field, plus minimum 5 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting demonstrating continuous growth in depth and breadth of knowledge
Leading-edge knowledge of principles, concepts and practices in non-viral gene therapy including LNP delivery is required. AAV gene therapy and use of baculovirus system and stable producer cell line for AAV and DNA productions is a plus. Familiarity with muscle and liver targeting of therapeutics a plus.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in modern molecular biology techniques, along with the ability to quickly absorb new technologies in the field, take initiative and identify new projects.
Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field of gene therapy.
Hands-on manager and experienced leader of other scientists and directing research projects with a proven track record of being a results-oriented leader of cross-functional teams.
Ability to design, execute and generating complete research data packages to support regulatory fillings
Flexibility to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines and ability to lead others through change in a dynamic, fast paced industry and work environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: impactful oral and written communication.
Ability to effectively communicate, coordinate and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Experience in preparing high quality documents including technical reports, presentations, SOPs, experimental protocols and regulatory filings.
