Sanofi Group Sr. Principal Scientist Pharmacokinetics in Waltham, Massachusetts

Sanofi is seeking a pharmacokineticist to join the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) research platform of the North American Hub. As a member of the DMPK department within the pharmacokinetics function, the individual will be responsible for the hands-on design, conduct, interpretation, and reporting of pharmacokinetic data across multiple modalities including biotherapeutics and small molecules. The successful incumbent will have pharmacokinetic expertise to support project teams across multiple therapeutic areas including rare diseases, neurosciences, immunology, and immune-oncology. The scope of project responsibility will range from early discovery up to first in human clinical trials.

The individual will also be an integral project team member representing DMPK on research projects to ensure effective integration of PK and PKPD into the team strategy. The individual will lead project teams for designing and interpreting quantitative pharmacology studies and using PKPD models to aid in preclinical to clinical translation. In this role he/she will contribute to the project team strategy at the early discovery phase up to first in human trials. In this role the individual will also be involved in preparation of IND/IMPD/CTX and other summary documents for regulatory submission.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in Pharmacokinetics or related field with at least 5-8 years industry experience

  • Ability to design and implement preclinical pharmacokinetic and PKPD studies required to support first in human clinical trials for small molecules and biotherapeutics.

  • Expertise in the application of Phoenix WinNonlin is required, and/or experience with other sophisticated modeling programs (Monolix, Berkely Madonna, Matlab, etc).

  • Experience as a team member on interdisciplinary project teams is essential, with experience on biotherapeutic projects.

  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment and experience working in a global environment is a plus.
