Sanofi Group Scientist - Biophysics in Waltham, Massachusetts
The successful candidate will independently conduct in vitro biophysical studies to support small molecule drug discovery efforts in the Integrated Drug Discovery Group within Sanofi. Candidate will be responsible for developing a variety of biophysical assays, and iteratively test compound binding characteristics. As an active, enthusiastic member of high value project teams, candidate will work collaboratively with medicinal chemists, biologists, pharmaceutical scientists, etc., presenting his/her results at team meetings and participating in decision-making. With an appropriate sense of urgency, the successful candidate will bring valuable experiences to address scientific questions, and an open-mindedness to learning new ways to streamline workflows and drive priorities. Biophysical analyses with technologies such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) will be a significant part of the candidate's responsibilities.
Hands on experience with in vitro assay development and a strong background in biophysics is required. Experience with SPR (Biacore), NMR, ITC and other biophysical methods are a plus. Experience in protein purification and characterization is a plus. Strict attention to detail and excellent communication (oral & written) skills are required.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. with 0-5 years of professional experience developing in vitro assays in the biotech/pharmaceutical environment. Experience working on early-stage drug discovery project teams is highly desirable but not required.
