Sanofi Group Principal Scientist, Gene Therapy in Waltham, Massachusetts
We are seeking a Principal Scientist to join the Translational Cluster in the Sanofi Genomics Medicine Unit. Reporting to the Head of the Translational Cluster, the candidate will play a key scientific role in developing and executing the translational development strategy for the GMU. A background in nonclinical development for gene and/or cell therapies and a proven ability to advance novel therapeutic approaches into clinical development is highly desirable.
Oversees AAV platform, vector engineering programs including vectorizing antibodies and enables translation from in vitro/in vivo POC studies to therapeutic disease programs for preclinical development.
Contributes to interdisciplinary cell and gene therapy research programs in a highly collaborative and matrixed manner across internal groups and with external partners.
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences, preferably with focus on translational research, and a minimum of 5 years of experience
Comprehensive experience with biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology; experience in translational sciences
Demonstrated excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with scientists and with non-scientists
Highly effective presentation skills
Experience with cell or gene therapy development preferred
Experience with vectorizing antibodies preferred
