Sanofi CMC/Early Development organization has an opening for a Co-op in Analytical Research & Development (AR&D) department

Job description:

The candidate will be working in conjunction with both AR&D and process development on developing and applying analytical techniques to support the process chemistry group in achieving efficient synthetic route scouting and optimization. The candidate will use but not be limited to the following analytical instrumentations: Karl-Fisher, UV, IR, Raman, TGA, DSC, ICP-MS, GC, GC/MS, HPLC (UPLC), LC/MS and NMR. In addition, the candidate is expected to integrate various analytical instrumentations to establish fit-for-purpose setup for reaction monitoring and parameter evaluations to support the development of small molecule pharmaceuticals. It is expected that the candidate will gain hands-on learning experience of robotic systems.

This position is a fixed term Co-op opportunity with the following duration: July 12th, 2022 – December 16th, 2022 ( Candidates must be available 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday ) initially in Waltham, MA and later in Cambridge, MA.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have finished the core courses for a chemistry major including General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry with GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.

  • The candidate is expected to be computer literate: understand common programing languages and skilled in Microsoft office.

  • Basic wet lab skills are required and experience with the above-mentioned analytical instrumentations is preferred.

  • The candidate must be a team player and enjoy working in multidisciplinary environment.

  • Knowledge of electronic lab notebook is preferred.

  • Must strictly follow laboratory safety practices in compliance with our local procedures

  • Must have permanent US work authorization
