As senior member of the Digital Data team, the head of data architecture will play a hands-on leadership role to lead, develop and enhance the data architecture team. He or She will be responsible for the overall data architecture coherence and state of the art data platforms. Digital Data architecture team is in charge of setting the enterprise standards, reviewing and/or implementing solutions and services transversally in collaboration with the different data verticals (Data engineering, Data Dev Ops, visual engineering, Data Domain functions). This leader will ensure internal and external solutions are consistent to the overall strategies across Sanofi, relevant roadmaps, and internal standards where appropriate.
The position will report directly to the Global Head of Data architecture Operations and Governance. This role will closely work with multiple transversal Digital teams (e.g. Data, Agile CoE, Consumer Experience, Architecture committees), Digital Technology (e.g. infrastructure, cloud, network, cybersecurity), and key business stakeholders. Efforts will also include developing and reviewing business cases and identifying potential technologies that could support business capabilities and their digital transformations. This resource will have direct people management responsibilities and accountability for several teams:
Data Architects – technical solution architects supporting the Digital Data priorities within business & analytic, Real-World evidence, R&D, industrial affairs ...
Portfolio and Project Planning – Work closely with the program team and be in charge of defining priorities, resources and budgets.
This resource will also drive continuous improvements within their scope inclusive of documentation, processes, governance, success measurement criteria, and operating models.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Have solid experience in developing Data architecture roadmaps, blueprints, and designing real world solutions. Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Possess practical knowledge of data solutions in business processes and business decisions. Pharmaceutical and life science experience is a nice to have.
Demonstrate excellent skills of translating requirements into workable, fit for purpose, technical designs and solutions. Have extensive experience on technical solution identification and rationalization.
Previous Hands-on experience in delivering and leading Data Science and machine learning projects
Proven experience in all phases of a Big Data/Analytics project: Concept & design, development, implementation, change and operation
Advanced experience in programming (Python, SQL, bash)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/AKS/EKS/Openshift
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and MLOps automation
Experience in cloud architecting and machine learning technologies – Azure/AWS/GCP
Experience in data technologies Snowflake and other data warehouses, informatica, Kafka, AWS data toolbox, Airflow, databricks, .
Experience in designing data and/or machine learning solution architectures
Strong customer focus, assertiveness, and precise method of operation
Ability in understanding of architectural dependencies of technologies in a vast and complex environment
Able to communicate and present internally and externally in a confident manner
Proven ability to build develop and lead teams
Must be able to quickly adapt to a changing and highly dynamic work environment
Strong relationship management skills in working with business colleagues, Digital team members, senior leadership team members, and vendors
Demonstrated ability to lead and/or influence decision making
Resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Other language skills are a plus
Ability to work autonomously and work effectively with global teams to get the job done
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific or technical disciplines. Advanced degree is preferred. Additional professional certificate is a plus
10+ years Data, ML Ops experience is a plus.
Strong demonstrated experience in leadership, Implementation and Operational Support, senior stakeholder management, business partnering, and clear, effective communication skills.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with direct supervisory and people management responsibilities.
