Sanofi Group Upstream Manager Scientist - Vaccine in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania
The Manager Scientist, Upstream within the Manufacturing Technology (MTECH) department of Vaccine Industrial Affairs is a technical contributor to the Bacterial Technology Unit, supporting the design and execution of development and/or troubleshooting studies for the manufacturing and continuous improvement of bacterial and cell culture vaccines.
Expert on bioreactor operation (bacterial and/or cell culture)
Hands-on execution of upstream process development studies
Lead and support small- and large-scale optimization, development, process engineering and validation
Support new technology evaluation, development and implementation
Write protocols, reports, procedures, and memos as needed to support development and validation work
Provide instruction, guidance, and direct support to laboratory technicians and operations on the correct execution of lab work
Work collaboratively and cooperatively within MTECH and with Operations, QA, QV, and RA to accomplish business needs
Participate in troubleshooting at MTECH and operations with respect to the upstream antigen production processes

Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters in basic sciences, math, engineering, or pharmacy (preferably biotechnology / life sciences)
Hands-on experience with bioreactors.
Candidate should possess educational and professional experience, commensurate with the position.
Terms of employment:
You will have no direct reports
You will work during normal business hours (8am-5pm Monday – Friday), but flexibility if occasional work outside of these hours is necessary
