Job Title: Manager Maintenance

Function/Department: Maintenance/GCI, QC, R&D, Facilities

Location: Swiftwater

Summary of Purpose/Major Responsibilities:

The Manager Maintenance Improvement is a key stakeholder in providing technical and operational support for the maintenance activities in the GCI, QC, R&D, and FSL facilities at the Swiftwater site.

The Manager Maintenance Improvement supports the daily and long term maintenance activities and goals and helps to ensure that all corrective and preventive maintenance work of the equipment and facilities is completed in a safe work environment, meets all regulatory requirements, and results in minimal interruptions to the customer.       

Key Accountability:

  • Oversee and participate in short and long term improvement projects in the department

  • Support daily and chronic problem solving activities

  • Utilize SAP tools for developing PM’s, upgrading job plans, and making improvements to the planning and execution of corrective and preventive work orders

  • Responsible for developing, defining, tracking,and coordinating shutdown activities in the department

  • Support the implementation of safety programs and initiatives in the department

  • Provide support to ensure facility, services,and utility deviations , change controls, and CAPA commitments are met on time and meet regulatory requirements

  • Effectively utilize inter departmental maintenance and engineering resources to ensure department priorities are aligned and customer needs are met

Context of the Job/Major Challenges:

  • Create a collaborative work environment by monitoring key metrics, effectively utilizing resources, and communicating with customers.

  • Support utilizization of the +QDCI Visual Management Boards.

  • Share and involve maintenance resources across teams.

  • Drive and lead continuous Improvement projects in areas of responsibility.

  • Support the budget and cost goals/metrics in the department.

  • Collaborate with customers (s) to ensure customer needs are met.

  • Provide input and support the Technical Services Leadership Team on strategies to improve manufacturing and facility equipment robustness and reliability.

  • Act as a “Change Agent” to make cultural changes to improve maintenance team performance.

  • Effectively utilize inter departmental maintenance and engineering resources to ensure department priorities are aligned and customer needs are met.

  • Support the efficient execution of weekly maintenance work schedules.

  • Effectively utilize SAP tools for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all corrective and preventive work orders.

  • Effectively utilize cross functional work teams to meet customer needs.

  • Utilize Reliability Engineering resources to promote continuous improvement and improve reliability and uptime.

  • Utilize cross functional work teams to eliminate chronic equipment problems.

  • Support the implementation of safety programs and initiatives in the department.

  • Establish a presence on the shop floor to promote accountability for safe behaviors and quality mindset.

  • Support the Technical Services safety programs to include, but not limited to, PASS objectives, SOR program, SCOUT team, and other safety initiatives.

  • Manage and lead the housekeeping and 5S programs in mechanical spaces and maintenance shops

  • Create a safety culture where “No One Gets Hurt.”
