Sanofi Group Maintenance Manager in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania

The Manager Maintenance provides leadership and management of a team of maintenance technicians, contractors, and various site support resources needed to reliably maintain the facilities, equipment, and processes in his area of responsibility.

The Manager Maintenance ensures that all corrective and preventive maintenance work of the equipment and facilities is completed in a safe work environment, meets all regulatory requirements, and results in minimal interruptions to the customer.  

Responsible for the management, development, and leadership for a team of maintenance technicians

  • Ensure each technician has priorities, objectives, and development plans identified in Workday

  • Provide on going performance feedback via monthly one to one’s, midyear, and year end performance reviews

  • Utilize performance Management Tools to recognize high performers and coach low performers

  • Act as a “Change Agent” to make cultural changes to improve team performance

  • Ensure all technicians are current with their Isotrain training requirements

Create a collaborative work environment by monitoring key metrics, effectively utilizing resources, and communicating with customers.

  • Manage and utilize the +QDCI Visual Management Boards

  • Share maintenance resources across teams

  • Drive and lead Continuous Improvement projects in areas of responsibility

  • Manage budget and cost goals/metrics in the areas of responsibility

  • Collaborate with customers (s) to ensure customer needs are met

  • Provide input and support the Technical Services Leadership Team on strategies to improve manufacturing and facility equipment robustness and reliability

Effectively utilize inter departmental maintenance and engineering resources to ensure department priorities are aligned and customer needs are met

  • Develop, communicate, and execute weekly maintenance work schedules

  • Effectively utilize SAP tools for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all corrective and preventive work orders

  • Track work order backlogs to ensure the timely execution of work orders

  • Effectively utilize cross functional work teams to meet customer needs

  • Utilize Reliability Engineering resources to promote continuous improvement and improve reliability and uptime

Responsible for personal and team safety results and promoting a safety culture where “No One Gets Hurt”

  • Establish a presence on the shop floor to promote accountability for safe behaviors and quality mindset

  • Support the Technical Services safety programs to include, but not limited to, PASS objectives, SOR program, SCOUT team, and other safety initiatives

  • Manage and lead the housekeeping and 5S programs in mechanical spaces and maintenance shops

Human Resources Dimensions

The Manager Maintenance is responsible for leading a team of 5 -15 non exempt maintenance technicians. The team is responsible for providing 24-7 , 3 shift maintenance support for either GMP or non GMP areas.

Financial Dimensions

The Manager Maintenance is responsible for managing the contractor and technician labor costs in his areas of responsibility. Each Manager Maintenance manages a budgeted contractor spending of $0.9MM to $1.5M annually and an technician salary budget of $1.0 MM annually.

Impact of Error

The Manager Maintenance makes daily decisions on the scheduling of technician and contractor resources and the effective utilization of engineering , quality, and other in house resources to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operating efficiency. Poor decisions could result in excessive operating costs, excessive production downtime and millions of dollars in lost production.

Education

BS in Engineering or Science highly preferred but years of relevant manufacturing experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Experience

L1 Level……0-5 years Maintenance or Operating experience including a minimum of 2 years managing technicians

Lab or Pharma exp preferred

Good Understanding of all mechanical trades, current best practices, and common maintenance issues

Requirements

Must be able to participate in Sanofi’s Medical Surveillance Program

Obtain and maintain personal background checks and clearences

Must be able to pass and maintain N95 and Full-Face Respirators Certification
