iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

Job overview

This position of Flu Industrialization Support Lead , a scientist/Engineer, in the Manufacturing Technology (Mtech) function of Vaccine Industrial Affairs, participates in the execution of technical studies to prepare for the validation of a new influenza drug substance manufacturing plant. The mission of MTech is to deliver robust and efficient process & testing with associated know-how transfer to Manufacturing & Quality Control (QC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the implementation and validation of the influenza production process in the new building

  • Prepare and execute investigational, engineering, definition and process validation runs

  • Contribute to the definition of critical process attributes for process validation

  • Communicate and interpret documented study results within the platform or project

  • Provide technical expertise on a given subject matter within area of responsibility

Requirements & Qualifications

  • PhD/PharmD/MS in a scientific/engineering discipline with 1 to 3 years of experience.

  • Experience and knowledge of egg-based vaccine manufacturing and downstream purification techniques (eg. TFF, ultracentrifugation, virus splitting, viral inactivation, etc).

  • Ability to contribute in a team environment.

  • The candidate should have strong communication (oral and written in English), interpersonal, and interdisciplinary skills and be able to effectively communicate goals and objectives to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Preferred to have skills in establishing and applying structured methodologies, such as Quality by Design, Design Space, & Process Control Strategies to be employed in the course of industrial process design, validation and control.

Vaccines Industrial Affairs (VIA) at our Swiftwater, Pennsylvania site, the largest vaccine manufacturing facility in the US, continues to develop its manufacturing assets to produce existing and new vaccines and biopharmaceuticals. Currently a new influenza manufacturing plant is being constructed which offers a unique opportunity to be involved with the construction of the plant, technical troubleshooting, and especially validation of the manufacturing process in the new plant. The individual in this position will work in a team of highly skilled engineers and scientists and work on topics with a high technical and scientific complexity.
