Sanofi Group Deputy Director, Project Management - Vaccine in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania

Key Accountabilities:

  • Builds and updates forecasts (Budget, Trends, Long Range Plan) and monitors and evaluates the activity KPIs. Identifies risks and opportunities for improvement and supports management to take corrective actions.

  • Ensures that the baseline is set up with the necessary elements, the relevant connecting milestones between each function or work stream and verifying that the linkage implemented are consistent with the project execution, commissioning, qualification & validation strategy making it ambitious but achievable. Challenges the durations and assumptions with each function or work stream leader.

  • Develops/Aggregates, tracks and control realistic end to end schedules and budgets. Coordinates the cross functional project team on cost and schedule to ensure it is up to date by reporting true and faithful financial status of the project. Ensures on time, consistent financial planning, forecasting, cost accounting, analysis and reporting activities for the assigned projects to ensure consolidated reporting in business decision making.

  • Collect information from various work streams and systems (SHINE, eBuy, SAP, Catalyst etc.) that may be required to generate reports, forecast or enter data.

  • Performs financial and business analyses on project, reports and explains variances versus target.

  • Provides management (Project Leader, steering committee and PMF) with consolidated financial information (actuals and forecasts), according to Corporate procedures.

  • Communicates lessons learned across the corporate project management functions.

  • Develops and delivers project management training to all Swiftwater resources responsible for working on projects.

  • Engages with Global PMF to keep abreast of project management policy changes and updates and communicates effectively to the site.

  • Ensures Swiftwater Project Management Guidebook is updated on an annual basis.

  • On-time and on-budget (OPEX and CAPEX) achievement of project deliverables through all phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Preparation and maintenance / update of project budget (OPEX and CAPEX), resource plans, and schedules on SHINE.

  • Accurate and timely information communications on project status, budget, schedule, resources, and risks.

  • Timely and consistent planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting on budgets and timelines to enable business decision making.

  • Identification, recommendation, and implementation of improvement opportunities and communications of lessons learned.

  • Organization and management of project steering committee meetings and other meetings with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Delivery of Swiftwater Project Management Guidebook trainings to Swiftwater VIA.

Education and experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering or Science.

  • Minimum 10 years relevant working experience in project management ideally in a construction, pharmaceutical, food or chemical production environment.

  • Experienced in project management processes, project cost estimation, forecasting, etc.

  • Experienced in developing business cases, managing change orders, collating/consolidating work-stream financial information.

  • Scheduling using MS Project or other planning software.

  • Cross functional team working experience.

  • PMP certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SAP and Planisware (SHINE).

  • Financial accounting and financial controlling experience.
