We have recently announced an exciting 18-24 month journey to create a fully standalone CHC business (separating the Business Unit from our Pharma company heritage, processes etc), as we target to create the best FAST MOVING CONSUMER HEALTH company, which will require us to retain, attract and grow the best leaders in our industry.


He/she is in charge of building a best-in-class packaging innovation capability, identifying the existing resources within Sanofi CHC, setting the ambition, to include sustainability and impact of digitalization, helping CHC senior leadership understand the gaps and building a plan (incl. recruiting) to reach excellence. He/ she will lead the development and execution of Sanofi CHC’s design and packaging innovation strategy, integrating sustainability, ensuring that the company’s packaging sustainability innovations enhance consumer experience, business performance and support long-term growth ambition.

He or she will directly contribute to business growth through innovation, consumer engagement and sustainability and will recommend the optimum structure and governance to deliver on the vision, including both internal and external resources.

By combining a technical understanding of packaging, sustainability and business acumen, he/she will play a highly visible, cross-functional leadership role internally and represent Sanofi CHC externally in leadership forums and collaboration platforms across the industry. The leader will also participate in and provide guidance to corresponding cross-functional project teams.

Directly reporting to the Chief Science Officer, the Global Head of Design and Packaging Innovation is responsible for building a world class program for packaging innovation, design and management of structural packaging and product design & sustainability.


  • Initiate a cross-functional diagnosis of current CHC performance on packaging innovation, set ambitions and strategy, and propose a roadmap (incl recruiting of key competencies) to reach best-in-class levels

  • Measure and monitor progress against Packaging sustainability strategy, objectives and performance targets. This includes influencing and contributing to the development and upgrade of required reporting systems

  • Brings best-in-class external view / benchmarking and is a catalyst for sharing of internal best practices & learnings and to scale-up winning ideas

  • Directly contributes to business efficiency & profitability through optimum packaging efficiency, production techniques, supply chain optimization

  • Partners with the Ecommerce (and in future D2C) teams to identify the needs of this fast growing channel, to ensure great consumer and customer experience

  • Build key stakeholder relationships from external to internal – Universities, Suppliers, CMO, Innovation Partners, Design, Procurement, Marketing & Supply Chain

  • Lead the formulation of Company’s long-term packaging sustainability vision, mission and operating principles, and lead the development of a high-level strategy to support them.


  • Growth Hub and Science Hub key stakeholders, CMO, Design, Procurement, Marketing & Supply Chain

  • External ones with suppliers, e commerce, Universities, CMO, Innovation Partners



Engineering degree preferred with about 15years in the FMCG/CHC industry

Required knowledge and/or experience

  • Proven entrepreneurial spirit / self-starter, with an appetite for setting ambitions and building capabilities

  • Strong understanding of the role of the consumer and brand, ability to balance these needs and communicate benefits alongside the rational requirements of the commercial business

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and into external networks (suppliers/academia)

  • Transversal team leadership is key in this role

Language skills

Fluent English
