Position Overview

Reporting to National Business Manager, the Therapeutic Sales Specialist is responsible for achieving-surpassing business objectives and sales targets driving product sales through the promotion of our products, value-added services and strong relationships within his/her territory (Toronto East to Ottawa). The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing territory business plans aligned with the brand plan, achieving business and sales objectives via execution of the brand tactical plan/strategy while providing value to customers/patients. The Therapeutic Sales Specialist will conduct his/her business with key targeted specialized physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, health care professionals; She/he is recognized as a trusted advisor by key opinion leaders (KOLs) and contributes to the success of the team. She/he will act as a product/content expert and account liaison. The incumbent ensures continued adherence to the ethical and legal standards relating to our commercial practices including Sanofi guidelines and policies and the current Rx&D code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales results and successfully collaborating within a cross-functional team.

  • Build and execute on strategic business plans including resource and activity effort allocation, and achieve Key Performance Indicators in the business plans.

  • Regularly follow up on the plan execution quality and on promotional and continuing medical education budget.

  • Target a client base, analyze sales data and metrics, and development of new business opportunities.

  • Keep on top of changes in the market and the field and sharing back relevant information internally.

  • Demonstrate credibility to clients through a vast knowledge of the product being promoted and of competitors' products and ability to build relationships, identify opportunities in the market, build advocacy.

  • Identify needs at the institution/community/territory level and provide valuable information and services to customers.

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team environment to ensure team success.

  • Use internal and external resources to bring added value to clients in order to build partnerships and grow our business.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in science or business

  • Minimum of five (5) years of specialty sales experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or other direct sales experience in the healthcare industry

  • Ability to navigate multi-disciplinary medical practices, the hospital system and develop sound business partnerships with key decision makers

  • Working knowledge or technical knowledge of chronic disease markets

  • Excellent relationship building, communication, selling and negotiation skills

  • Business acumen and customer focus

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to dealing with ambiguity and possess political acumen

  • English and French languages preferred (oral and written)

  • Based out of Toronto territory, also covering the Ottawa region

  • Valid driver’s license
