We see the consumer healthcare market intensifying in competition, with the rise of vocal new & global pure players, moving away from what was previously viewed as “big pharma” space. Simultaneously Sanofi has announced in October ’23 its intention to separate at the earliest Q4 ’24 via the creation of a publicly listed entity headquartered in France.

Overview :

Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy, BD & Alliance management, you play a pivotal role in managing and nurturing strategic alliances with key partners and stakeholders. This role requires a strong leader who can develop and implement alliance strategies to drive business growth, ensure effective collaboration, and maximize the value of our partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Alliance Strategy Development : Develop and execute a comprehensive alliance strategy aligned with the company's objectives, identifying profitable growth opportunities with our partners.

  • Partner Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key alliance partners, ensuring open communication and alignment of goals ; coordinate the specific governance related to more complex alliances.

  • Alliance Negotiations: provide expertise when negotiating key new & existing partnerships, agreements, and contracts, to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company on the long run. Elaborate negotiation approach, based on evolving business needs & strategy, integrating needs from both business owners, innovation portfolio & company strategy, together with imperatives from legal, finance, science hub, procurement, Manufacturing & Supply, etc.

  • Accountability & ownership of alliance management contracts: govern who is responsible to manage contracts, with simple & defined criteria.

  • Expert consultancy: for contracts out of scope of alliance management direct accountability (e.g. those managed by procurement), provide on request expertise on negotiation items requiring alliance management expertise. Provide ad hoc analysis of our partnership contracts in scope of alliance management, on request.

  • MyAlliance: Oversee the management & update MyAlliance, with the support of legal teams and the support of the developing centers of excellence.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with alliances and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the company's interests are protected.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including brand GMs, Innovation teams, Science Hub, Manufacturing & Supply, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Strategy, etc. to ensure alignment and synergy in alliance management activities.

  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and threats.

About You

  • You have a minimum of 8 years of alliance management experience within the consumer healthcare or consumer goods industry, demonstrably growing and managing successful partnerships .

  • Having worked within a Big 4 company is a strong asset , demonstrating your familiarity with large-scale corporate environments.

  • You possess a keen negotiator's mind , adept at translating complex contracts into win-win business value propositions .

  • Your financial acumen enables you to analyze deals, understand valuations, and model return on investment, ensuring sound financial decision-making.

  • As a strategic thinker, you thrive on building and nurturing strong alliances, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.

  • You are a skilled communicator, fostering collaboration across diverse teams while confidently presenting your insights to stakeholders.
