Sanofi Group Vaccines - Cobots & Automation Transformation Leader M/F in Lyon, France

Vaccines Industrial Affairs (VIA) is accelerating the transformation of its manufacturing assets through adoption of Manufacturing 4.0 capability. VIA is ambitioning to fully integrate Manufacturing 4.0 capabilities & culture within its operations to boost business growth and profitability in 2025+.

This Manufacturing 4.0 acceleration program is part of the overall VIA Performance roadmap and is aiming to leapfrog the competition by 2025. The program dimension reaches 100m€ over 5 years with 70 FTE mobilization annually and impacts the totality of VIA employees (8.000) and embarks an extended team of approximately 100 persons.

He/She drives cobots & AGV implementation at global level of deployment across Sanofi Pasteur sites: primarily for Marcy l ‘Etoile , Val de Reuil Swiftwater but not exclusive of other VIA sites.

  • Solutions Global Ownership & Global Governance in direct relationship with greater IA organization

  • Global product owner of AGV & Cobots solutions to be deployed on all Sanofi Pasteur sites

  • Team management through leading the booster leader / IOT automation on all sites

  • Catalyst to enlarge the deployment of Use AGV & Cobots on new projects and facilitate the screening of all opportunities to embrace larger Robotics in collaboration with all Sanofi pasteur Sites

  • Alignment ahead of Investment committees in regard to Manufacturing 4.0 capability

  • Management of the Global CAPEX envelope up to 5 M€

  • Strategy alignment and business benefit realization (KPI definition)

Key accountabilities

Roadmap definition and execution

  • Leads cobots & AGV roadmap for roll-out in alignment with overall Manufacturing 4.0 roadmap and in accordance to expected productivity trajectory

  • Oversees all the sites roll-out and provides a consolidated progress report to VIA Manufacturing 4.0 governance, VIA Management Committee as well as Engineering Technical Services (ETS) management committee

  • Ensures site and functional readiness before kick-off of any roll-out: site project team preparation, site alignment with the standard process in order to avoid any request for modification of the standard system

  • Provide support to the sites: animates periodic meetings with local ETS, support site ETS on hot topics/issues

Leadership and upskilling

  • In the early stage of any new solution he/she is leading more directly site roll-out to create traction and put product implementation into motion

  • Contribute to update the deployment package (cookbook) to accelerate the solution adoption across sites (including but not limited to: external partners, methodology, applicable standards, timelines, budget, resource planning)

  • Lead the design and implementation of proper operating model to ensure sustainable adoption and support of the solution (organizational impacts on site, strategic partnerships with external providers)

  • Is responsible for defining and tracking completion of upskilling curriculum for booster leaders and any other SME directly involved in the solution roll-out

  • Coordinate roll-out and staffing of iOT/Automation leader/booster leader in such a way that every new roll-out is building on the previous

Business value realization

  • Is responsible for establishing standards in terms of productivity gains expectations and as such is in charge to develop model for gains estimation in 3P

  • Catalyze adoption of new ways of working, routines and practices at site/operational level in accordance with the recommendations to get the most value out of the Manufacturing 4.0 solution

  • Ensures business value identification (key performance indicator) and realization throughout the program (including translation in real value capture: FTE re-allocation, OEE increase, working conditions improvement including Musculo squelettic disease

Solution Ownership & Governance

  • Is the vaccine GBU representative in the global Sanofi team in charge of cobots initiative

  • Act as ‘product leader’ if solution has to be designed and packaged (requirement gathering, interface with IA digital delivery center, supplier relationship)

  • Consolidates, arbitrates and prioritizes solution evolution requests from VIA network

  • Is responsible for driving any appropriate global change control (if applicable) in relation to the Manufacturing 4.0 solution adoption and plant connectivity

  • Contributes to project/budget required per roll-out and communicate to site booster leader/IoT Automation ahead

  • Is responsible for consolidated technology and compliance risks and is accountable to report through the appropriate channels

Change management and Communication

  • Animates and equip the community of Iot-Automation leaders in charge of deploying the Manufacturing 4.0 solution across VIA (lessons learned, tools, roadmap follow-up, collaboration, knowledge capitalization)

  • Perform initial trainings and contribute to training content evolution

  • Communicates on solution evolution and ensures cascading of roll-out roadmap

Scope and dimensions

Global Accountability on the Manufacturing 4.0 Solution adoption for VIA. Trans functional & International exposure.

The position is overall accountable to elevate VIA Manufacturing 4.0 maturity level as per DPMM framework established. As such the position is strongly exposed to VIA CAPEX investment planning.

Some activities and/or projects will require working with diverse teams geographically and will require flexibility in working hours and travel.

Education and experience

Specific degree, duration of experience (Required to hold the job): Engineering or Science master's degree with strong experience in manufacturing operations and executing large scale strategic programs.

Previous experience - 15+ experience required with a bundle of

  • Previous experience in Manufacturing,

  • Operational experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Automation and Robotics

  • Strong background on IoT and/or shop floor information systems
