Sanofi Group Senior Scientist, Gene Therapy Research, Rare and Neurologic Diseases Therapeutic Area in Framingham, Massachusetts
We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Gene Therapy Research Cluster and play a lead role in identifying strategies to mitigate the immune response to therapeutic AAV vectors. The successful candidate will support the development of therapeutic strategies targeting the muscle, central nervous system, liver and kidney, to ensure successful translation of pre-clinical gene therapy programs to a clinical setting.
Specifically, the remit of the candidate will be to :
Lead the development of strategies to manage both the humoral and cellular response to AAV capsid and /or transgene products in the context of several disease areas, including muscle, metabolic, CNS and renal.
Develop and maintain a culture of teamwork, and collaboration.
Possess strong presentation and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment will be vital
Ph.D. or equivalent in the field of immunology
Background / experience in AAV gene therapy preferred
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of post doctoral experience
Experience in both T and B cell immunology preferred
Experience with neutralizing antibody assays, and ELISAs to detect humoral immune responses and ELISPOT and intracellular cytokine stainings, (ICS), to characterize cellular immune responses
Demonstrated experience and expertise with both in vitro and in vivo studies.
Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications supporting their research programs
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment
