Sanofi Group Senior Maintenance Technician in Framingham, Massachusetts

The Framingham Facilities Operations (FFO) department is responsible for providing corrective & preventive maintenance and support services for the building(s), equipment and shared utilities at the Framingham site. FFO is directly responsible for reliable, efficient, and sustained operation of the facility and all equipment. Additionally, through daily tasks, FFO supports current project operations and site goal objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate and site requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utility systems, manufacturing equipment and/or building systems in a highly regulated, 24x7, cGMP environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair complex utility systems which may include WFI, RODI, Clean Steam, CIP, Autoclaves, Glassware Washers, production vessels, HVAC, Cold/Warm Rooms, MV and LV electrical distribution, control systems, compressed gases, plant steam/condensate, bulk chemical distribution and wastewater treatment. Technicians assigned to Instrumentation and Controls will focus on troubleshooting and programming PLCs, VFDs and other instrumentation and general control systems, as required.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on utilities/facilities or manufacturing process elated equipment within a cleanroom environment

  • Interpret P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications as part of planning and performing maintenance and repair activities.

  • Write/revise operational procedures, training documents and maintenance procedures for various utility systems.

  • Supply information and technical data for securing spare parts.

  • Provide complete and accurate documentation as required for cGMP operations.

  • Provide responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.

  • Perform startup and commissioning activities, as required.

  • Work in a collaborative team environment and interact with other support groups such as HSE, Engineering, Validation, Quality Assurance and Metrology.

BASIC QUALIFICATION:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, and 7+ years of experience performing operations and maintenance on facilities, equipment, and utilities.

  • Able to work in a dynamic, cross-functional maintenance team supporting other functions, which may include HVAC, utilities, and process maintenance.

  • Able to read drawings/schematics, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.

  • Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a team environment.

  • Proficient with using MS Office suite applications, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Building Management Systems, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

  • Instrumentation & Controls Positions (only): Experience with PLCs, VFDs, configurable controllers and other integrated control systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure in any of the following areas: Wastewater Treatment, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Electrician, Plumbing or Pipefitter. (For Instrumentation and Controls Positions (only): Delta V experience).

  • Experience operating and maintenance mechanical systems in a cGMP or other regulated environment.

  • Experience with current predictive maintenance technologies such as infrared thermograph, vibration analysis and ultrasonic testing.

  • Knowledge of standard industrial HSE programs and requirements (i.e., lock out tag out, work at heights, confined space, etc.).

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to gown and gain entry to manufacturing and quality-controlled areas.

  • May be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts, which includes alternating weekend and / or being on call.

  • Able to climb ladders.

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
