Sanofi Group Scientist in Framingham, Massachusetts

Sanofi’s Rare Disease and Neuroscience Research Therapeutic Area is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Scientist to investigate the underlying disease biology of neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS. The successful candidate will work with team members using in vitro and in vivo model systems to generate mechanistic insight and screen novel therapeutics for the treatment of ALS. The position is located in Framingham, MA and will relocate to Cambridge, MA in 2022.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of in vitro glial based models of ALS.

  • Support animal studies by performing basic animal handling, techniques (e.g. IV, SC, IP dosing, whole body perfusions, blood draws, necropsy) and animal behavioral tests.

  • Perform CNS (brain, spinal cord) dissection, trimming and processing, and collect bodily fluids, e.g.blood and cerebrospinal fluid.

  • Implementation of multiple state-of-the-art techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and microscopy.

  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results at lab meetings.

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and analyses.

  • Maintain lucid and effective communication with manager and other colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR PhD (No Post doc experience required).

  • Ability to meet timelines and deliverables in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Curiosity and a willingness to work independently

  • All candidates must have authorization to work in the United States throughout the duration of the Fellowship. No visa sponsorship will be provide
