Sanofi Group Global Research Program Manager in Framingham, Massachusetts
The Global Research Project Manager fulfills the role of Chief Operating Officer for projects from discovery to early development. They manage operational activities to ensure the translation of the project strategy into an operational plan, develop alternatives, identify risks and mitigation approaches, and manage variances in terms of time, budget and quality.
Key Individual Accountabilities:
Contribute to the definition of a strategy for the project and lead its translation into a realistic, robust and ambitious plan.
Drive the execution of the operational plan across functions in terms of timeline, resources and quality.
Identifies with Core Teams and requests resources required for the project and makes sure resources are assigned and aligned.
Builds the operational plan, coordinates and tracks all project-activities in order to allow optimal progress and decision making (e.g. manage contracts, budgets, meetings, timelines, reports, legal questions etc.).
Ensures execution of functional plans along agreed timelines: monitors sub-teams to drive execution of plans against strategy.
Ensure appropriate risk analysis and mitigation.
Identifies risks and issues, tracks relevant project KPIs and proactively identifies issues and proposes plans to solve.
Co-lead and motivate the team to be high performers.
Foster appropriate communication in close collaboration with all stakeholders.
Manages stakeholders, point of contact of the different interfaces: between sub teams, between team and functions/platforms, and between stakeholders and committees.
Ensures adequate entry of project status information into various dashboard and tracking tools.
Manages teams through milestones and stage gate reviews.
Support due diligence for external assets that would enter the portfolio in research.

Strong knowledge of full value chain including development, regulatory, commercial.
Strong knowledge of overall the pharma environment.
PhD in life sciences or MD or PharmD or Master in life sciences AND 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry (R&D), or bachelors in science an 10+ in pharmaceutical industry.
Some industry experience managing or leading R&D projects, or 2+ years experience on an industry R&D global core team.
MBA or PMP a plus.
