Sanofi Group Bioanalytics Characterization Scientist in Framingham, Massachusetts
The Bioanalytics Characterization group, part of the Global CMC Development organization located in Framingham, Massachusetts, is seeking a scientist to join the team. The successful candidate will utilize advanced bioanalytical tools with a focus on characterizing the structure-function relationship of a variety of biotherapeutics at all stages of development to enable critical decision-making and ensure the successful development of new drugs.
Protein purification using column chromatography (operation of manual and automated chromatography systems, i.e. AKTA and HPLC).
Perform analytical assays including protein quantification, cIEF, CE, SPR, IEX, HIC, SEC, etc.
Complete detailed structural characterization including sequence variant identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis of post-translational modifications (e.g. glycosylation and deamidation) using state of the art mass spectrometry.
Mammalian tissue culture for protein expression and cell based assays.
Collaborate with group members and cross-functional teams.
Evaluate and develop new technologies to streamline and improve the efficiency of the characterization workflows and to solve problems encountered during drug development.
Author technical reports, study protocols and manuscripts for publication; present at internal and external meetings and conferences.
PhD in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline or a master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of industry experience.
Strong track record of independent and in-depth protein purification and analysis
Proven experience with mass spectrometry characterization of proteins including LC-MS intact protein analysis, peptide mapping, and PTM characterization.
Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving, communication and inter-personal skills.
Experience with mammalian tissue culture and cell assays.
Experience with SPR.
