Sanofi Group Associate Director, Business Process Improvement-Framingham, MA in Framingham, Massachusetts

Department Description:

The Framingham campus comprises of multiple Sanofi groups including Industrial Affairs, Global MSAT for the Biologics Platform, and Research and Development. While each business has distinct deliverables and portfolios, there is a requirement for collective alignment and prioritization of programs and deliverables at the campus level.

The Operational Excellence/Sanofi Manufacturing System (OpEx/SMS) organization is responsible for the developing and driving strategy and outcomes related to operational and organizational performance at Framingham Biologics & Biosurgery. The aspects of the business this position will support includes: (1) GMP operations on the Framingham campus related to the commercial production of Fabrazyme, Thyrogen and other future products (2) the 8NYA Biologics plant (3) Biosurgery operations and (4) The Framingham Campus comprising of IA, R&D, global MSAT and other Sanofi groups.

The Sanofi Manufacturing System (SMS) team is responsible for all aspects of SMS and Operational Excellence at the Site. The team is responsible for driving an integrated SMS strategy and plan, ensuring the strategy is well communicated and understood throughout the site and that programs/projects achieve committed targets. The team will work in strong collaboration with the organization to create a robust and sustainable SMS culture, as indicated by qualitative measures (culture and behavior) and quantitative measures (performance and improvement targets.)

Position Overview with Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of business process and system improvement opportunities that support site and business goals and priorities.

  • Develop comprehensive strategies for analyzing and adjusting processes and procedures to attain maximum efficiencies in all production and related operations.

  • Functional expert to challenge and refine business, functional, and data requirements.

  • Evaluate controls, identify and control gaps, and prepare and review narrative and templates as necessary.

  • Validate finalized work plan for the implementation of process and system improvements and socialize it with the Site Leadership Team and other senior leadership.

  • Prepare strategic models, including “what-if” scenarios in a multi-site, multi-product operational model.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual internal reports sharing progress on Site Goals and Operational Excellence benefits.

  • Execute post-mortem assessment to drive continuous improvement as outlined by the Head, OpEx and SMS, Site Head or other leaders.

  • Handle special projects, ad-hoc analysis, and reports, including building templates as needed.

  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Engineering, Finance or another quantitative field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting complex operations that require detailed planning, analysis including portfolio, capital expenditure and annual strategic planning and budgeting.

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated skills in analysis, complex problem solving, reasoning and math

  • Proficient at Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Expert knowledge of scenario planning and analysis, Make Vs. Buy assessments, ROI of business projects, etc.

  • Expert knowledge of process and business systems improvements and implementation.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to focus on the details.

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Systems such as SAP.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to gown and navigate GMP manufacturing areas.
