Sanofi Group 2021 Biologics Co-Op: MSAT in Framingham, Massachusetts

Support commercial biotech manufacturing of mammalian cell culture and protein purification through experimental work and data analysis to support scale-up, mixing & mass transfer analysis, and process analytical technology.

The Co-op position is based in the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department supporting the activities in the Bioprocess Engineering group. This position will focus on bioreactor modelling, advanced process control, machine learning and data visualization supporting the main functions in the Manufacturing Science Lab. The candidate will have opportunities to learn about bioreactor operations and to demonstrate the benefits of advanced control in a non-GMP lab environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with plans to graduate by 2021

  • 3.0/4.0 GPA is a minimum requirement

  • Must have permanent US work authorization

  • Must be available 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with bioreactor operations (ex. perfusion)

  • Understanding of first principle and data-driven modeling (ex. material balances)

  • Programing knowledge in Matlab, LabVIEW or similar

  • An ability to work as part of a team, engaging other scientists with complementary skill sets in the field of Biopharmaceutics

  • Knowledge in advanced process control (such as model predictive control) and parameter optimization

  • Knowledge in multivariate analysis

  • Experience in DeltaV is a plus

  • The position will be based in Framingham on the Sanofi-Genzyme campus. A free Shuttle service is available from downtown Boston
