Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) – Oncology

The Oncology reimbursement environment for specialty biologics has proven to be highly challenging for Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Patients. Payer medical and pharmacy Utilization Management (UM) criteria create process delays for patients like required Benefits Investigations (BI), Prior Authorization (PA), Denial Appeals, detailed Clinical Documentation, and Peer to Peer reviews. Assisting HCPs and Patients to gain access to prescribed treatments requires dedicated and knowledgeable customer facing support. This support is provided by our Oncology FRM team.

The FRM team is a critical front-line member of the Sanofi Genzyme Patient Support Services organization. The primary purpose of this role is to provide information and education to support HCP offices and patients in obtaining appropriate access to Sanofi Genzyme Oncology products. Goals include education of patient affordability offerings, and a strong understanding of the patient support programs. FRMs support the company and divisional reimbursement strategy and this position also requires the ability to successfully navigate working across multiple internal and external stakeholders, and program vendors to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities for a FRM within Oncology:

  • Will be subject matter experts on Sanofi Genzyme patient support programs, payer claim processes, billing and coding education, access issue resolution, financial assistance and alternative funding options provided by our patient support program.

  • Plan and implement geographic business plans to support appropriate access for Sanofi Genzyme products.

  • Establish and maintain knowledge on the local and national payer landscape, including Specialty Pharmacy and Utilization Management criteria for assigned products

  • Develop and maintain relationships MAC Medical Directors, Medical Policy staff and Advisory Committee members to ensure Oncology access

  • Monitor commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid communications on coverage, coding and payment

  • Partner with Alliance colleagues (when applicable) to create a culture of respect, prioritization and customer focus

  • Educate office personnel on appropriate billing information including approved codes for approved uses, medical & pharmacy benefits, patient support program offerings.

  • Establish relationships within targeted healthcare provider offices to assist HCPs in resolving payer coverage issues that may be barriers to Sanofi Genzyme product access in a manner that complies with all company policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure training is completed and demonstrate appropriate clinical knowledge of the respective products

  • Develop and execute annual budget with allocation within respective territory

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree required, preferably in life science or business, MBA a plus

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry

  • 4-7+ years pharmaceutical/biotech reimbursement or access experience in buy and bill setting, with demonstrated exceptional results

  • Demonstrated success of cross functional teamwork and working in a matrix environment (sales, market access, customer service, medical affairs, marketing, etc…)

  • Ability to travel to meetings/training/programs as necessary - additional travel will be required within the assigned geography.

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oncology experience preferred

  • Oncology physician reimbursement experience preferred

  • Must be energetic and driven to succeed

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills required

  • Strong understanding and experience supporting infused products, especially in the provider office and health care facility settings of care

  • Significant experience and understanding of the ever changing payer environment and its impact on patient access to products infused in provider offices and health care facility settings of care.

  • Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable Sanofi Genzyme compliance policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Travel Requirements:

  • 50%-75% Travel, depending on geography
