Job Summary

The primary focus of the External Manufacturing Key Account Manager is driving execution of Sanofi’s objectives with external manufacturing partners - Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs). The role will interface closely with internal stakeholders and our external manufacturing network, ensuring strategy and timelines aligned before translating these into executional and tactical objectives. A key element of this role is matrix-management of cross-functional teams to execute strategic objectives.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with internal functions, leveraging these relationships for alignment of objectives

  • Build and maintain operational relationships with Sanofi’s CMOs as a single point of contact

  • Manage new products and package/formula changes to existing products and processes from concept to launch that are produced at CMOs

  • Coordinate with activities of Marketing, Product Development, and Operations Department with CMOs in the development of product and packaging for new and existing CMO-manufactured products; seeking always to improve products, reduce cost and/or satisfy the product requirements consistent with stated marketing goals

  • Drive delivery of the program objectives against tight timelines, including managing risks and issues that arise

  • Identify and escalate business-critical issues affecting supply and timelines as necessary, providing recommendations, mitigations, and potential solutions

  • Drive deliverables in the cross-functional team, supporting and managing the team priorities in alignment with the program needs

  • Partner with Sourcing for CMO due diligence during new CMO selection to vet capabilities, risks, and investments required. Coordinate with team members representing Quality Assurance, Product Development, Procurement, and Operations to evaluate and recommend CMOs for specific projects.

  • Manage existing approved CMOs providing manufacturing/tolling services to Sanofi CHC

  • Manage CMO and Sanofi expectations by disciplined tracking of activities for delivery against objectives; managing changes (documentation, alignment); driving performance (metric setting, monitoring).

  • Travel as needed to address the organization’s needs for External Manufacturing

  • As a primary Sanofi CHC contact, support the interface of CMO with Sanofi CHC operational personnel in an effective and proactive way; always working in a positive, efficient, and effective way to address business objectives

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education : BA or BS in Science, Business, Finance or a related field. MBA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two plus (2+) years’ experience with a Consumer Product Goods (CPG) company.

  • Ability to expresses self clearly and concisely to key stakeholders; document issues and/or concerns concisely and comprehensively; assess options cross-functionally and articulate well-reasoned recommendations for leadership endorsement.

Terms of Employment

Travel as needed to address the organization’s needs for External Manufacturing. - up to 10% (could be weekends)
