The Immunology and Inflammation Research and Early Development Therapeutic Area in Sanofi is building a world-class immunology team and is seeking highly motivated scientists to lead projects evaluating novel therapies in the fields of Type 2 Immunity and Fibrosis, Immune Checkpoint Biology, Type 1 Diabetes, Autoimmunity and Innate Immunity.
We are seeking a Senior Scientist in our Type 2 Immunity & Fibrosis Cluster of our Immunology & Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area . The candidate will explore mechanism of action, mono- and combination therapeutic strategies, and biomarkers and therapeutic responses in pre-clinical models. The candidate will work closely with other disciplines across Sanofi to drive early discovery research programs into early clinical development, providing scientific and technical leadership.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Lead drug discovery project teams working with scientific platform teams and champion projects from discovery into early clinical development.
Develop strategy and technologies to conduct experiments and analytical procedures, applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts.
Coordinate research efforts and makes key technical contributions affecting the direction of the group and/or project.
Develop and characterize innovative preclinical animal models that enable the interrogation of mechanism of action of immune therapies dedicated to drug discovery and development projects
Build efficient interactions with collaborators within and outside the Immunology and Inflammation Research and Early Development Therapeutic Area.
Provide scientific expertise, establish and manage external scientific collaborations, monitor external market, and provide critical assessment.
Provide and promote support for operational excellence according to Sanofi values and ethics.
Prepare publications, research and clinical/regulatory documentation in accordance with Sanofi quality standards.
PhD in Immunology or Molecular Biosciences with minimum of 2 years of industry or academic experience in immunobiology or fibrosis; or a MS in Immunology or biology with minimum of 8 years of industry or academic experience in immunology or biology and in vivo pharmacology; or BS in Immunology or biology with minimum of 10 years of industry or academic experience in immunobiology and in vivo pharmacology.
Track record of excellent scientific publications: Demonstrated proficiency in understanding the pathology of fibrosis.
Track record of pre-clinical drug discovery including moving scientific targets into early clinical development.
Candidates with a background in fibrosis biology will be given preference.
Experience working with models of human disease is highly desirable
Experience with in vitro functional assays using human cells is highly desirable
Strong people organizational and presentation skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
