Sanofi Group Senior Financial Analyst in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will provide support to Specialty Care Alliance Finance, including reporting of budgets and forecasts, monthly/quarterly closings (P&L and profit share reviews), and other financial planning & analysis activities on a timely basis. This person will work with the Finance Business Partners. This role is part of the Specialty Care Finance team. This person will help to identify and implement new ways of working as we transform the system processes and interactions.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support system changes and maintain key data and processes in central repository

  • Support quarterly process – data validation process, reconciliations, and support information/files

  • Support monthly/quarterly reporting to partner and internal business partners (i.e. various contractually necessary reporting and regional reports)

  • Prepare forecast files for alignment with partner: P&L, Opex, FTE, country splits as appropriate

  • Monitor risks and opportunities that affect the profit share

  • Analyze FTEs on a quarterly basis and compare to plan – ensuring limits are respected

  • Update system and confirm assumptions built into budget/forecasts

  • Assist in education of controller groups on alliance system and processes

  • Ensure compliance with annual SOX controls and support quarterly SOX controls

  • Test financial submissions for consistency with aligned financial plans, support team and global controllers with updates as appropriate

  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly close process including reporting requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all internal control requirements and assist with internal audit process

  • Support alliance system access process

  • Support key finance initiatives

  • Ad hoc projects and reporting as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Area of specialization in Finance, Accounting, or Operations is preferred. CPA or advanced degree is preferred.

Professional Experience & Skills:

  • Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of diversified financial experience.

  • Strong working experience with Excel.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and proven experience working across multiple internal stakeholders is required.

  • Preferred

  • Public accounting experience.

  • Previous work-related experience within the Pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Experience with TM1/Planning Analytics

  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proactively challenges the status quo and investigates issues independently and as a team

  • Effectively collaborates with other cross-functional teams

  • The position will be required to manage a considerable amount of change as the new structure is built, new processes are defined, and the position evolves. A tolerance for ambiguity and willingness to accept change as part of overall process. A willingness to accept and address resistance to change and opinions of others.
