Sanofi Group Senior Director - Global Professional Engagement in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Sanofi is recruiting a new Senior Director – Global Professional Engagement within our Breast cancer commercial franchise. The selected candidate will lead the global commercial engagement strategy development, cross-functional alignment, and execution of the global professional engagement plan for the Sanofi-Genzyme breast cancer commercial team. Key areas of focus will include development of the global advisory plans, key engagements with opinion leaders, academia, professional organizations, and patient advocacy groups to understand key trends within the breast cancer landscape, it’s evolution and current and future treatment expectations.
Additionally, this leader will lead the development of the breast cancer global conference strategy, including content development and co-ordination ensuring global consistency and leadership within the breast cancer disease area.
This individual will be a part of the global breast cancer commercial leadership team and report directly into the Global Commercial Head - Breast Cancer.
Set direction for integrated execution of franchise strategic plans at national/regional scientific meetings with aligned purpose
Collaborate closely with cross functional leadership teams to strategically identify and prioritize market challenges/barriers and implement new solutions
Co-lead the engagement with HCP professional societies that are relevant to the global breast cancer team to identify appropriate collaboration opportunities and/or convention/sponsorship opportunities
Determine overall sponsorship level and commercial activities budgets per congress
Lead development and execution (e.g., selection of EE’s, documentation to support need, meeting take-aways and actions) of advisory boards to obtain feedback on commercial areas of interest (in partnership with global medical) and help inform brand strategies
Inspire and lead innovation and synergies across teams to maximize team productivity and outcomes in support of overall portfolio
Possess strong leadership, business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines, and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups
Leads the development and ongoing management of the annual strategic plan for Global Oncology congresses partnering closely with cross-functional teams
Identifies key congresses and rationale for level of sponsorship and activities, providing guidance and recommendations of the role congresses can play in achieving strategic objectives.
Leads co-ordination and execution of all key global breast cancer congress-related activities in cross-functional collaboration (e.g. Commercial, Medical, Advocacy, Training, Regions, etc.) to ensure alignment and optimization of activities in support of the Breast Cancer Congress Strategy.
Manages the relationship with third party vendors and agencies to ensure all necessary contracts are negotiated and in place, they are compliant with the relevant code of practice requirements, and they deliver at or above expectations at events.
Aligns with the global market leads on the overall congress portfolio objectives and key tactics.
Represents Voice of the Breast Cancer Customer in cross-functional congress planning forums.
Further refines and streamlines approach to congress activity, competitive events and organizational focus. Drives continuous improvement by introducing innovative ideas and identifying better ways to creatively streamline events and congresses (especially under budget constraints) and align congresses as part of the broader strategy
Defines new capabilities required to drive business objectives and growth opportunities, in coordination with cross-functional teams.
Drive implementation of novel HCP Engagement Programs in partnership with senior stakeholders in the Sales and Marketing organization in support of HCP Engagement strategy ensuring compliant operations and mitigating risk
Design and deliver positive experiences, prioritizing a customer insight in decision-making processes
Employ rigorous methodologies to identify, profile, and prioritize key stakeholders
Develop methods to gain key insight to develop engagement objectives, strategy, and plan for stakeholders
Identifies gaps in internal stakeholder knowledge and areas for bringing competitive advantage to Sanofi through deeper partnerships and more systematic insight gathering
Serve as an organizational leader and champion for organizational values and mission
Education, Experience, Knowledge And Skills:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 10 years product marketing and 5-7 years pharma/biotech industry experience
Ability to synthesize business needs, product features and consumer insights to produce strategic brand plans and pull through to successful execution
Previous thought leader engagement experience
Be available to work some evenings and weekends, approximately 30% travel including
Demonstrated experience in strategy development and execution
Strong communication skills, including Sr. Leadership engagement experience
Previous people leadership and management experience preferred
Breast Cancer experience
MBA in marketing or pharmaceutical marketing
Strong leadership skills
The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
