Sanofi Group Senior Development Scientist - Oncology/Immuno-oncology in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Senior Development Scientist – Immuno-oncology/Oncology Strategy

Key Responsibilities:

Have a key role on the Oncology Development clinical strategy team

Support evaluation of pre-clinical or clinical cancer drug opportunities, identified in collaboration with the Business Development and Merger & Acquisition teams, to determine the scientific and strategic fit with the oncology portfolio

Integrate and interpret basic, translational, and clinical research data to support recommendations to clinical, regulatory and global commercial teams

Interface with Research to gain insight for assessing the potential of pre-clinical or clinical cancer drug opportunities to have a best-in-class or first-in-class profile

Work cross functionally with early and late-stage development teams in formulating clinical development plans

Advance strategies to guide the clinical development of a compound from pre-clinical to first in man and proof of concept studies into later stages of development

Assist in making a clear case of the potential rewards and inherent risks and major go/no go points for pre-clinical or clinical cancer drug opportunities

Advance a reputation that drives innovators to bring their ideas to Sanofi

Interface with Global Marketing and the commercial organization to maximize opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

Educational background

  • Advanced degree (PharmD or PhD scientist and Biomedical Science master is a plus)

  • 5+ years of industry experience (including both research and clinical development)

  • Strong scientific and academic background in molecular oncology and/or immuno-oncology

  • Proficient in clinical literatures and critical interpretation of clinical study results

  • Up to date knowledge of oncology translational science; experience with biomarkers helpful

  • Experience with creating and supporting clinical development plans

  • Experience with interaction with regulatory authorities for clinical trials is a plus

  • Strategic thinking in combination with understanding of up-to-date therapeutic landscape

  • Experience with basic statistical principles and techniques of data analysis, interpretation and clinical relevance

  • Experience in successful collaboration with and leading cross-functional global teams of interdisciplinary professionals

  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and with clients of the Sponsor company

  • Open, transparent, collaborative working style

  • Good leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Good problem-solving, conflict-resolution and decision-making skills

  • Driven individual and performance oriented with ability to work along agreed timelines

  • Proven ability to manage projects/team of significant scope and complexity, while meeting all deliverables and timelines
