The role of the Product Owner - Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) is to design and ship Digital AI Products and help to mature Sanofi’s AI capabilities across the enterprise.
They will be responsible for providing strategic direction and expertise to understand key business questions that can be addressed by Data and AI products. Works closely with leaders across Data Science, artificial intelligence, engineering, and Data to build a variety of products & models to provide insight into critical business decisions. Connects with stakeholders within Data Science and/or across organizations to identify opportunities to extract value from datasets to produce innovative solutions and solve focused analytical problems.
Oversee the development, implementation, and application of state-of-the art digital AI/ML Products for addressing business questions.
Contributing to the definition and execution of the upstream product strategy and roadmap, and making the translation to clear detailed product specifications for development
Preparing and participating in release planning, contributing to program increment planning, program backlog refinement, and preparation / prioritization of portfolio backlogs.
Defining iterations and stories for the team(s). Building, editing, reviewing and reprioritizing the team(s) backlog coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners
Lead the exploration of data using a variety of advanced techniques to proactively identify relationships, create insights and answer business questions or guide future model development.
Collaborates with business partners, Data Science and engineers to implement new models and the development of integration strategies, including monitoring of analytics applications post-implementation.
Lead the definition of processes and procedures to enable the team to execute efficiently.
Keeps vision of Product up to date
Owns roadmap and sprint priorities; Construct and maintain a stack ranked product backlog
Ensures KPI reporting
Ensures Product technology system meets all controls to address applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.) and cybersecurity requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering or other relevant field
5+ years’ experience in product ownership/management
2+ years actively involved in an Agile/Scrum environment. Comfortable utilizing Jira, Confluence
Self-starter with exceptional communication skills and data-driven mindset
Demonstrated leadership in product development (taking products from conception to release), as well as experience with project and stakeholder management is required
Experience in working with diverse teams involving different cultures / locations is a plus
Experience in healthcare/med-tech, AI/Healthcare IT solutions businesses is a plus
A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies; Ability to communicate the logic, reason, and priority of each customer user journey
A solid grasp of the machine learning lifecycle and best practices
Knowledge of development and project management methodologies, best practices, and tools (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban)
Strong project management capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A willingness to help and share knowledge with other team members.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
