Sanofi Group North America Category Buyer, Professional Services in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Mission
Lead sourcing for North America within the Professional Services domain. Execute and implement contracts in region and perimeter. Develop, implement, and optimize sourcing strategies based on supplier and technology market intelligence, respecting global and regional category management guidance. This mission is aligned with the values, ethical charter and code of conduct of the Group. Position can be based within our New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Cambridge hubs.
Professional Services categories include HR & Mobility Services (subcategories: Travel, Car Fleet, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment and External Workforce) and Real Estate & Workplace Services (Real Estate, Building & Occupant Services, Integrated Facility Management, Security, Office Furniture/ Products, Subscriptions, Translation, Working Garments and Safety Products). Specific subcategories to be supported in this role are to be determined.
Sanofi US is only considering candidates who are currently legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Key Accountabilities:
Strategy
Support the global subcategory strategy preparation and validation process with key business stakeholders, and adapt/implement the strategy in North America
Anticipate and consolidate business needs to develop action plans, lead negotiations with suppliers and facilitate implementation of projects
Ensure the successful execution of any category sourcing plan in line with global strategy and regional needs
Conduct supplier and subcategory market research and benchmarking analysis as required
Deliver cost savings that meets or exceeds annual targets
Manage Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and with key suppliers
Ensure procurement technical excellence for his/her perimeter (Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management, Market Intelligence, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, Compliance …)
Operational:
Lead regional procurement activities across subcategories, in close collaboration with Global Lead Buyers
Optimize the purchase of services and products to meet the needs of internal customers, in compliance with company policies and procedures
Develop reports/dashboards and maintain relevant KPIs to monitor and manage activities
Share projects and savings opportunities with Finance to support the annual budget/forecast process
Drive the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers/technologies, alternative solutions, etc.)
Lead and conduct the Request for Proposal (RFP) process utilizing e-sourcing tool
Drive negotiations with suppliers and conduct e-Auctions to maximize savings, where applicable
Lead a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program if applicable
Utilize Lean concept to drive the resolution of issues and improve supplier performance
Provide support to Sanofi’s Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) objectives with suppliers in the region
Contribute to the Sanofi ambition to deliver €1+ billion in savings by 2022, via the Healthy Savings program
Business Partnering:
Develop strong partnerships and trust at the regional level with key business stakeholders
Communicate proactively and frequently within the HR, Finance, Business and Procurement network
Actively support business partnering activities in collaboration with Procurement peers
Develop and maintain strong interfaces with Legal, P2P and other relevant SBS teams
Category Management:
Ensure operational sourcing and action plan follow-up is fully aligned with subcategory management strategy/orientation
Support Regional Category Manager and peers, provide advice and/or participate in their strategic negotiations according to needs
Procurement Risk Management, Compliance, Ethics and CSR:
Ensure Procurement skills are robust and current via Procurement Academy and other training offerings
Perform Compliance sanity checks
Support Pre/Post Audit management and fulfillment of action plans
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required.
MBA degree is preferred
Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry is preferred
A minimum of 3 years of combined professional business experience in Procurement, Operations leadership or related Pharmaceutical industry discipline/leadership (Finance, HR, SBS, etc) is required.
Ability to affectively facilitate cross-functional teams within in a complex matrix environment is required and critical to this position
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and highly capable of working in multiple systems and tools is required
Position may require up to 10% overall travel
Technical Skills Requirements:
Preferred demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures
Strong analytical skills and negotiation techniques
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build effective partnerships and influence upper levels of management
Problem solver skilled in imagining process efficiencies and innovative solutions
Basic understanding of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and financial practices
