Sanofi Group MLOps Engineer in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The data scientists have a key role in accelerating R&D, driving business insights, innovating how we engage with customers and employees, automating business processes, and maximizing patient impact. This Digital Data Science team is already making a difference and is expanding – with multiple roles, in multiple locations!

Sanofi Data Science Centre of Expertise is seeking an MLOps Engineer to join the team who will work at the intersection of Data Science, Data Engineering, and MLOps Engineering. He/she will make key contributions in MLOps engineering & scaling up Sanofi’s AI solutions. The MLOps Engineer will also have responsibilities in modeling complex business problems and aid in the discovery of business insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. We want our MLOps engineers to help deploy ML solutions with technically robust lifecycle management (e.g., new releases, change management, monitoring and troubleshooting) and infrastructural support .

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with teams to design and build cloud hosted, automated pipelines that run, monitor, and retrain ML Models for business applications

  • Design and implement Model and Pipeline validation procedures alongside teams of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other ML Engineers

  • Support life cycle management of deployed ML apps life cycle management (e.g., new releases, change management, monitoring and troubleshooting).

  • Work as subject matter expert for app user base (e.g., maintain user guides, release notes, FAQs)

  • Build processes supporting app monitoring, troubleshooting, life cycle management and customer support.

  • Walking stakeholders and solution partners through solutions and reviewing product change and development needs.

  • Maintain effective relationships with app customers to develop education and communication content as per life cycle events

  • An enthusiasm to ask questions of team members and learn new things is essential. Researching technical issues and gaining expertise on emerging tools and technologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES / LANGUAGE

  • Work all over the full stack is a must have, moving fluidly between programming languages and technologies: Python, PySpark, R, MLFlow, AWS Lambda, Kibana, AWS S3, Gitlab and API, postgres databases, SQL, RShiny, Python DASH, Airflow, Jenkins, Kubernetes, DataBricks

  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and designing variety of databases (e.g., Postgres SQL).

  • Create and develop in CI/CD Pipelines which allow for controlled and continuous enhancement of existing work and new features during both development and production phases

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

  • Experience in the operationalization of Data Science projects (MLOps) using AWS.

  • Good understanding of ML and AI concepts and hands-on experience in ML model development.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field with 3-4+ years ML engineering or engineering support for Data Science experience in an industrial / commercial setting (global organization, life sciences & healthcare a plus)

  • AI/ML development designing CI/CD Pipelines, deploying models to production, and managing them

  • Building and optimizing "big data" pipelines, architectures, and data sets

  • AI/Working in cloud and high-performance computer environments (AWS, Databricks preferred)

  • Operations of AI/ML modelling of complex datasets, Development experience desired

  • Experience specifying infrastructure to be built using tools such as Terraform or Jenkins

  • Performing alongside with Business units in Data Driven Projects​
