Sanofi Group Medical Director, Immunology and Inflammation in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Position Overview:

The Medical Director, Immunology and Inflammation, will report to the Head of North America Medical Affairs, Immunology and Inflammation. This position is based in Cambridge, MA. In this role the Medical Director will lead the execution of the medical and scientific strategy for the launch of a new molecular entity for pemphigus vulgaris and be a key partner to other internal functions including but not limited to Global Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Value and Access and Commercial.The team has a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of and execute the 1-year Integrated Medical Plan and 3-year strategic plan.

  • Manage the budget to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of all tactical activities.

  • Ensure strategic alignment across medical affairs and other functions.

  • Provide medical leadership and expertise to sales, marketing, value and access, training, business operations, legal and regulatory functions.

  • Review promotional and training materials to ensure scientific and clinical accuracy.

  • Provide input into real world evidence and publication strategy.

  • Develop and maintain close professional relationships with Key Thought Leaders within the pertinent medical community, key organizations, and institutions.

  • Represent Sanofi at medical meetings, advisory boards, and outreach meetings.

  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge and adherence of all applicable prevailing guidance, regulation, and law that mandates the nature in which pharmaceutical organizations function.

  • Remain informed of current developments within pertinent medical and scientific communities through familiarity with current literature, attendance at meetings, conventions, professional associations, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant roles in Medical Affairs.

  • Bachelors in science related discipline required and advanced degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of specialty products, with rare disease, dermatology or immunology preferred.

  • History of clinical practice a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a strategy.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present scientific data in a credible and audience appropriate manner.

  • Able to interface professionally with a wide spectrum of internal and external academicians, agencies, and industry executives in the scientific/medical arena.

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotech drug development and commercialization process.

  • Excellent skills working with experts from other functions influencing decision making without authority in a complex and matrix environment.
