The Head, MS Thought Leader Liaisons reports to the North America Commercial Lead for MS (MS business unit head).

The Thought Leader Liaison role is a field-based position focused on working closely with Key Opinion Leaders at MS Centers across the country as the Sanofi Genzyme MS account lead, ensuring cross-functional resources are deployed appropriately to meet customer and patient needs. This role works closely with field and home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Medical, Sales, Patient and Provider Services, and other functions. The Head, TLL role is responsible for leading the national TLL team, which includes the TLLs and their first-line managers, to deliver business results for the US MS franchise. This role is based in Cambridge, MA.

Description of the position

Missions and objectives

  • Leads a high performance team of TLLs and their first-line zone managers to help the Sanofi Genzyme MS franchise to achieve business and corporate objectives within the organization.

  • Collaborates with the MS brand and franchise marketing teams to develop and deliver marketing programs aligned with brand strategies.

  • Strategically assesses and identifies national critical analytics information required to ensure achievement of goals.

  • Drives compliant collaboration at a zone and regional level between TLLs and other cross-functional colleagues (sales, patient and provider services, medical, etc) to optimize Sanofi Genzyme’s ability to meet patient needs and deliver business results.

  • Collaborates with leaders of other Sanofi Genzyme commercial and medical field teams to align strategic direction and ensure effective execution of strategies

  • Sits on the US MS leadership team; works with other functional heads and under the leadership of the business unit head to develop and execute the MS franchise strategy

  • Develops a team that builds effective relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and MS Centers; acts as a “quarterback” for the Sanofi Genzyme team field and home office team in the account

  • Create a compliant environment which challenges, motivates and develops team members to reach optimal performance and potential.

  • Clearly defines the TLL role; evolves responsibilities to meet changing business needs

  • Sets clear objectives, coaches and mentors first line managers and individual contributors; assesses performance and skill level to develop future leaders within the MS organization.

  • Provides strategic customer insights to the commercial team to develop and grow the MS franchise.

  • Manages the TLL budget and ensure that teams take a disciplined approach to investment.

  • 50% travel required

  • Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, and require the same of his / her team

Basic Qualification

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in relevant biopharmaceutical/healthcare roles Bachelor’s degree

  • Documented success in pharmaceutical / biotech leadership with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies and tactics, aligning with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong familiarity with regulatory and compliance policies that apply to commercial operations

  • Must be an energetic, driven, dynamic leader who builds relationships internally and externally

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • MS experience

  • Previous experience in TLL (or similar) roles

  • Previous experience in marketing or other non-field-based functions; demonstrated ability to successfully navigate internal promotional review committee processes and procedures

  • Previous field leadership experience
