Sanofi Group Global Medical Affairs Senior Director, Dermatology in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Sanofi is recruiting a new Global Senior Director in Medical Affairs to support the Global Immunology Franchise for Dermatology. The new Leader will report directly into the Head of Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Dermatology.
The role functions internally as a strategic expert in immunology /dermatology to support the execution of an efficient and integrated global medical/scientific strategy including the interrelationship between evidence generation, publication and scientific exchange with key stakeholders
With guidance from the Head of GMA Dermatology, the person in this role will be working close with the alliance partner. The candidate must have a strong strategic mind, expertise in launching drugs in the immunology therapeutic area including experience with strategic projects. Strong focus will be the integration of all scientific activities to deliver the medical strategy of the brand. The candidate will have a solid working knowledge and background in Medical Affairs.
A summary of responsibilities include:
Drive the development and execution of the integrated Global Med Affairs long term strategy for Dupilumab in dermatology.
Gather insights from experts, scientific community and prescribing clinicians and support the commercial team to build and execute the strategic plan for Dupilumab in dermatology
Coordinate data and educational gap analyses across the countries.
Define and prioritize the future needs including new study ideas and tactics to prioritize the best areas for clinical trial and RWE investment.
Collaborate with the life cycle management (LCM) group and RWE group to support the data generation GMA plans.
Ensure the publication team is aware of the data availability from the phase 4 studies and RWE data and plan for publications.
Collaborate with alliance partners and with relevant stakeholders in clinical development, global medical affairs (e.g. type 2 medical franchise lead) and commercial teams: take a team-oriented approach to making sure strategy is clearly understood and the projects executed flawlessly among the various medical sub-functions based on the brand plan: data generation, publication, medical communication.
Providing support to the local and regional Medical affairs to support the strategy and interaction with experts.
Bring insights from the Regions to build the global medical affairs strategy.
Proactively support and provide insights to the commercial team.
Support health economics and value and access (HEVA) and market access (MA) teams as needed.
Oversee the company sponsored symposia execution and ensure alignment with the scientific communication strategy.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with experts in the Dermatology field, academics and professionals and/or patient associations. Prior knowledge of and established relationships with key opinion leaders in dermatology considered an asset.
Lead advisory boards, steering committees in dermatology and gain strategic insights for medical, scientific, and development strategy.
Ensure a patient-centric approach to development of medical strategy both for product and device development as well as possible services which can enhance the value proposition of the product; Provide relevant feedback to market access teams to ensure optimal pricing and reimbursement strategy and inclusion of relevant endpoints in clinical trials.
Travel required, comprising approximately 30%.
MD or PhD required.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in industry medical affairs.
Prior experience in a Global or at least Regional medical affairs role.
Prior experience in Immunology/Immuno inflammation Medical affairs strategy.
Experience working within an international company with a complex organizational environment; able to operate in a matrix team oriented structure.
Prior experience in managing a team.
Global Medical Affairs experience highly advantageous.
Experience in Medical Affairs with Biologics (Dermatology, Rheumatology, Gastro) highly advantageous.
Able to work on projects in coordination with the Alliance partner and establish excellent working relationships and credibility.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present scientific data in a credible manner. Able to interface professionally with a wide spectrum of internal and external academicians, agencies, and industry executives in the scientific/medical arena.
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech drug development and commercialization process.
Leadership skills; personal style that includes a sense of urgency, as well as flexibility and ability to respond to rapidly changing environments and circumstances.
Collaborative and proactive, with a hands-on, roll-up-the sleeves style and attitude.
