Director, US Business Intelligence and Analytics

DESCRIPTION:

The Director of US Business Intelligence and Analytics will be responsible for leading a team of analysts responsible for creating, measuring, and tracking the key performance metrics for Sanofi Genzyme’s US commercial portfolio. This leadership role will be an integral partner to the Global Analytics team along with the US Commercial teams and stakeholders. Key components to this role will include providing strategic guidance on business KPIs, highlighting issues, investigating and interpreting data, and communicating findings to leadership to drive decision making.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for long term strategic vision as well as daily operations of the US business insights and analytics function, responsible for assessing commercial performance across all BU’s.

  • Leading a team of analysyts that utilizes secondary data to measure KPIs, provide commercial strategy support, and manage brand performance tracking to drive strategic decision making.

  • Strategic business partner to BU heads, Data Management and Data warehouse team, overseeing data acquisition and integration from data vendors (IMS, Symphony, etc.)

  • Guiding roadmap development and enhancement of Business Intelligence and Analytics tools - Qlikview/Sense, SAS, Tableau, etc.

  • Provide strategic guidance to epidemiology research projects, prospecting and targeting physicians, patient segmentation and predictive analytics projects.

  • Key partner to Forecasting, Revenue modeling, budget and long range planning exercises.

  • Provide guidance on Advanced Analytics projects within the US - Segmentation, Targeting, Market Mix Modeling, Sales force sizing, etc.

  • Manage external analytics vendors along with budgets, to ensure business needs are being appropriately met.

  • Guide development and enhancement of commercial data warehouse and Qlikview/QlikSense Platform to support automated operational and management-level reporting and analytics.

  • Providing strategic insights and direction for KPI tracking for upcoming launches.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline, MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 10+ years of Biotech/Pharmaceutical Commercial Analytics/Forecasting or Sales Operations experience is required

  • Strong proven leadership, analytical and communication skills required

  • Thorough knowledge of and a high skill level in analytics

  • Possess very strong strategic awareness skill set

  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS, WK, Syndicated data sources).

  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g. Qlikview, Spotfire)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

  • Demonstrated the ability to work in a matrixed environment with many cross-functional partners

  • Ability to understand and influence decisions

  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Self-direction in ambiguous environments
