Director, Marketing Gaucher Disease, Rare Disease

The Director, Marketing Gaucher, Rare Disease will lead marketing for the U.S for the Gaucher Franchise. This individual will be responsible for the preparation, development and execution of the commercial strategy in the U.S. with an emphasis on digital. This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and reports to the Head, U.S. Marketing ASMD / Gaucher – Rare Disease

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and execution of the U.S. commercial strategy for the Gaucher Franchise including two inline brands and for pipeline assets

  • Ensure development and execution of cohesive brand and digital strategy across key stakeholders including HCPs, patients/caregivers and payers

  • Lead the design, development, maintenance and compliance of the Franchise Digital strategy, key digital channels and content to support all marketing programs across the Gaucher Franchise, including:

  • Non-personal promotion with a focus on email and third-party partners

  • Digital/mobile display media and programs

  • Websites

  • Social initiatives

  • Performance reports and optimization

  • Lead the advancement of the Franchise digital approach with focus on data, personalization, triggered messaging, and channel integration; implement roadmap in partnership with the field force and IT

  • Drive consistency, coordination, and digital platform implementation across the Franchise to deliver a positive customer experience and strong cross-indication integrated digital ecosystem

  • Foster strong partnerships with Clinical Development, Global Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Clinical, HEOR, Market Access, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, and other functions in developing the brand and digital strategy, to ensure aligned objectives and implementation across all functions

  • Demonstrate expertise of market trends, key thought leaders, advocacy organizations, deep market insights, and building a brand strategy across various customer segments.

  • Develop and execute impactful unbranded and branded campaigns

  • Ensure appropriate market analysis and competitive benchmarking is conducted to inform marketing programs and tactics

  • In collaboration with Market Research, Analytics and Business Intelligence, track, monitor, and report on key performance indicators monthly. Execute monthly business reviews with cross-functional partners to ensure objectives are being met

  • Manage annual budgets, ensuring strategic allocation of funds and monthly tracking to meet agreed spending targets

  • Manage advertising agency partner and other vendors to ensure execution towards objectives.

  • Ensure that all marketing processes, documents and tactics are developed and implemented in accordance with Sanofi Genzyme corporate compliance guidelines

  • Manage long-range planning and all associated financial forecasting requirements

  • Lead, build, develop, coach and motivate a high performing team creating a culture that is world class

  • Willing to travel 25% of the time

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 - 10 years relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Digital Marketing Experience – Pharmaceutical Experience not required

  • Direct-line management experience

  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate all clinical data / publications to support business objectives

  • Strong communication skills and track record of effective and influential presentations, delivering complex messages to external and internal customers, including Senior Leadership

  • Strong track record of project and process management skills, along with the ability to work on multiple tasks, and to effectively prioritize

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills and the ability to interact professionally representing Sanofi Genzyme

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and anticipate customer needs (internal and/or external)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology regulatory environment and has proven track record of managing tactical design, messaging and execution

  • Well-versed in core marketing principles and able to conceptualize and articulate a vision for the brand that energizes all functional areas and stakeholders
