Sanofi Group Digital Technical Engineer Biologics Research Products in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Sanofi tirelessly continues its path towards becoming a world-class biologics organization and it is expanding the capabilities in this area. Digital R&D Department plays a key role in this strategy by delivering value-added technology solutions throughout the R&D value chain. Within Digital R&D, Biologics Research Products Team delivers products and services contributing to Sanofi early Research activities and performance to design new molecular entity for patients. One of our key stakeholders is Global Large Molecules Research (LMR) organization consisting of five sites in the EU and the US, and approximately 550 personnel focused on antibodies, nanobodies and synthorins as therapeutic modalities.
For LMR workflows, Sanofi has selected Genedata Biologics as core platform. Aligned with LMR strategy, the Biologics Research Products team deliver products to meet the core foundational data approach to allow the implementation of advanced initiatives in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) to improve our workflows and increase our ability to deliver First-in-Class and Best-in-Class biologic drugs to the market.
Digital technical Engineer for LMR solutions is involved in end-to-end workflows related to Genedata Biologics Core Platform. He/she works under the responsibility of the Biologics Research Product Line Leader.
Partnering with LMR scientist and Digital stakeholders, the technical Engineer:
Is accountable for day-to-day delivery of the GDB platform and IT related components
Collaborating closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to GDB support and operation activities
Ensure the implementation of GDB evolutions and adapters
Participates in agile development projects.
Interacting with users as necessary to clarify requirements, working directly with the Product Owner to clarify and further define the details of how the story should be implemented
Planning and estimating development tasks with other developers that are required to fulfill the story
Taking responsibility for the quality of the software the developer produces.
Advises users on best practices to maximize the benefit of GDB
Ensures the monitoring of the GDB platform according to service and operating level agreements
Ensures that Digital Products meet all controls to address applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.) and cybersecurity requirements
Acts as Technical and/or enforcement authority for his/her domain of expertise
Proposes and contributes to the optimization and implementation of advanced enhancement for Biologics workflows and solutions
Contributes actively to Biologics Research projects with a role of technical SME
Contributes actively to Digital operational excellence
Conducting/contributing to Problem root causes analysis management
Contributing to implementation of sustainable action plans respectively leading the implementation
Provides and guarantees a broad and strategic vision and understanding of Biologics Research Domain solutions and workflows
Formal Education and Skills Required:
University degree in computing, computer science and/or scientific discipline.
5 years direct work experience in an IT area, preferably R&D.
Experience in Application Life Cycle Management (plan, design, build, operate).
Strong technical background.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English, presentation and organizational skills, interpersonal skills to ensure efficient relationship with all stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a worldwide, multicultural, multidisciplinary, matrix environment.
Experience and/or knowledge of Genedata tools.
Demonstrated understanding of the processes and workflows related to R&D.
Experience in Agile / Rapid Development Life Cycle methodologies; certification preferred.
Experience with programming languages such as various shells, pyhton, Json, SQL.
Knowledge in AWS/GCP/Azure architecture.
Willing, ready and enthusiastic to bring digitalization to the scientific community.
Self-motivated to visit labs as needed.
