The data scientists have a key role in accelerating R&D, driving business insights, innovating how we engage with customers and employees, automating business processes, and maximizing patient impact. This Digital Data Science steam is already making a difference and is expanding – with multiple roles, in multiple locations.
This Lead Data Scientist will drive new Digital efforts in Data Science focused on R&D, helping to develop better drugs faster, to choose the right treatment for a patient, and run safer & more efficient clinical trials. This Data Scientist will also work on enterprise AI solutions using graph processing and federated machine learning.
LEAD DATA SCIENTIST RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define and refine how Data Science can accelerate Sanofi R&D through preclinical and clinical efforts, with the goal of using data science to better understand the patient journey and to help us tailor interventions that maximize patient benefit.
Proficient at collecting and mining data from disparate data sources, and willing to dig deeper and understand the process that creates the data, - and drive leading edge use cases with graph & federated machine learning.
Identify opportunities for data-centric AI approaches to enrich R&D models
Use data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies to scope, define and deliver AI-based data products to accelerate and optimize R&D
Understanding and effectively work with a wide variety of data sources, such as unstructured data, omics, wearable device data (for example accelerometry and ECG), voice recordings, imaging data, electronic health records, social media postings or operational data.
Developing digital data products for R&D that scale
He/she will be able to generate work product that includes interactive visualizations, presentations, publications, web applications, predictive algorithms, and APIs
Build models, algorithms, simulations, and performance evaluation by writing highly optimized, deployable code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologies
Master's Degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, computational sciences or a related quantitative discipline and 7+ years of Data Science experience, or PhD + 5 years of with relevant work & domain experience.
Direct experience with any of the following techniques: advanced NLP modeling, federated machine learning, semi-supervised deep learning, graph neural networks, reinforcement learning, Bayesian networks
Experience AI / ML modeling of complex datasets
Visual analytics and/or data story telling with Tableau or other
Experience with some aspects of pharmaceutical operations, biomedical data, and/or drug development
Expertise with the core data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala), and familiarity & flexibility with data systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, knowledge graphs)
Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance computational environments (e.g. AWS, Apache Spark, Databricks)
Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills
Disciplined AI / ML development (CI / CD, Orchestration)
Experience with Tableau or Power BI
Privacy preserving data analytics
Regulatory, GxP, or similar standards
