Sanofi Group Associate Director, Specialty Channel Operations (Rare/Rare Blood) in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Associate Director, Specialty Channel Operations is responsible for the operations of Sanofi Genzyme’s specialty channel distribution, primarily focused on Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorders (Rare/RBD) products. This individual will be the subject matter expert as it relates to specialty channel activities, coordinating with brand and cross functional team members. The Associate Director will be responsible for contracting, execution and operations of Specialty Pharmacy (data and services) and direct customer contracts, including development of key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and scorecards to measure impact, success, and key deliverables and drive operational performance within the specialty channel. This role will play a crucial part in collaborating with customer-facing teams to gain feedback & field insights to have more productive dialogue with the specialty pharmacies. The position will ensure proper inventory is within the channel and will work with the Trade and Finance teams regularly to manage forecasts. The role will also work collaboratively with Patient Support Services, US Market Access, Account Management teams, Trade Operations, and other key cross-functional internal business partners.
Primary Responsibilities :
Execute on specialty pharmacy (SP) contracting strategy around data and enhanced services.
Lead contract development and execution efforts for new SP data and service agreements
Create business rationale (BR) and manage fair market value analysis (FMV) vendor to establish foundation for contracted data and services; work with Legal on BR documentation and approval
Create and execute operational plans, supported by strategic SP contract metrics, that seek to increase conversion, adherence, and time to fill, and ultimately provide a seamless patient journey from initial prescription to dispensed product
Partner with Patient Support Services (PSS) to ensure aligned communication and collaboration with SPs
Support launch activities for new product and/or label extension as it relates to SP strategy, pre/post launch implementation, and evaluation activities throughout the launch process.
Proactively monitor and analyze business performance in collaboration with the Business Analytics teams to assess and evaluate channel effectiveness
Analyze specialty pharmacy and product data to consistently communicate business metrics in support of strategic objectives
Create quarterly SP services scorecards for SP invoice evaluation and tactical discussions with account directors and SPs
Manage SP invoice evaluation and approvals, work closely with Data Management to ensure compliant management of invoices for SP data and services
Partner with Finance to support budgeting, inventory management, product distribution and SP payments and forecasts
Partner with Trade Operations, Strategic Customer Relations and Business Support, Supply Chain, and Value & Access colleagues on distribution planning and troubleshooting supply or access issues
Collaborate with Data Management team to assist in development and optimization of technology-related (Qlik) reporting dashboard and to ensure systems or enhancements are designed to meet the operational needs of the function and support testing of new/updated systems
Create distribution reports by channel to the field and internal customers as needed
Work collaboratively with data aggregator and Sanofi Data Management team to ensure data received from our distribution partners are accurate and validated
Serve as a role model and contribute towards strengthening our ethics and compliance culture, and awareness of Sanofi’s code of conduct
Ad hoc projects and initiatives, as required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of five (5) years in the pharmaceutical industry
Minimum of three (3) years of Trade, Specialty Distribution, Market Access, Specialty Pharmacy, and/or leadership experience
Strong analytical and project management skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QlikSense (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects and the ability to work independently
Ability to meet deadlines with quality deliverables; manage project scope, timelines, and budget
Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams, including PSS, Medical, Legal, Data Management, Trade, Customer Support,…
Strong oral and written communication skills
Launch experience with biopharmaceutical specialty products in multiple distribution models (limited, preferred, open)
Strong business acumen with an ability to manipulate & analyze robust levels of data and further summarize key insights to develop & deliver executive level presentations
Operations experience in guiding teams to execute & pull through against actionable tactical plans and further self-impose tight deadlines to achieve on deliverables
Networking capabilities to learn from and work with different teams, departments, customers and vendors
Understanding of payer landscape and US healthcare environment, especially within the Market Access functions
Collaborate and work effectively as a team member with internal teams and external partners
