BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:

The Sr. Manager, Custom Synthesis Business Development, will be working within Sanofi's ACtive Ingredient Solutions Business Unit, which is dedicated to third party chemical manufacturing for pharmaceutical clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting, managing and tracking of new custom synthesis opportunities with pharmaceutical clients from project identification to successful implementation and contracted product supply

  • Developing new business with custom synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and intermediates for developmental or commercial small molecule drugs

  • Managing project evaluations in close contact with the CEPiA organization

  • Developing and managing client relationships, monitoring project progress and managing all technical or contractual project aspects

  • Driving projects towards negotiation and contracting stage

  • Establishing development and/or supply contracts leading to commercial supply of API or intermediates

  • Expanding client relationships beyond current status at multiple organizational levels

  • Preparation of and participation in trade shows and conferences to represent CEPiA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science & Engineering

5+ years’ experience in Development and Industrialization of a chemical process and cGMP Manufacturing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiar with technologies and equipment (organic chemistry, analytics, pilot plant, synthesis route scouting)

Project Management skills

Understanding of trends on pharmaceutical industry

Solid Chemistry and/or API manufacturing background

Regulatory understanding of approval process of NCEs: Dossier Preparation, Development, Launch

Chemical and environmental risk assessment

Knowledge of German or French desirable

Negotiation skills

Experience in 3rd party business

MBA Preferred
