This role will be a senior member of the Digital GRA team. The person in this position will play a hands-on leadership role to develop/enhance/maintain our GRA technology strategy and solutions consistent to the overall GRA / Digital GRA strategy and roadmap. This resource will be accountable to ensure all internal/external developed solutions operate efficiently with quality and stay consistent and integrated to Sanofi’s strategies and internal standards where appropriate. The resource will also play a critical part in staying knowledgeable about external Digital capabilities and how they can be leveraged for GRA to deliver value.

This role will closely work with Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) business leaders, Digital stakeholders, and senior LT members. Key responsibilities include people management, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, business case development, and creating relevant Digital strategies that support GRA business objectives. In addition, this resource will work with Business Analysts, Service Owners, Domain Experts, Architects, project teams to ensure the implementation of technical capabilities are well managed and met desired objectives.

This resource will also be accountable for full end to end (strategy through operations and decommissioning). This includes leading/oversight of continuous improvements related to operations, business continuity, and ongoing compliance in a highly regulated environment.

The position will report directly to the Head of Digital, GRA, and be a member of the Digital GRA Leadership team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, FORMAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge And Skills:

  • Have extensive experience in managing, implementing and supporting Digital solutions. Delivering solutions on time, within budget and meeting relevant business objectives.

  • Have strong experience and critical thinking ability to formulate and implement a Digital strategy that is realistic, aligned to overall business and Digital objectives, and fit for purpose.

  • Have a solid understanding, in general, of information technology principles, its solution design, and its application to the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the R&D/Global Regulatory Affairs domain.

  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of business processes, business acumen, and related data within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the R&D/Global Regulatory Affairs domain.

  • Demonstrate excellent skills of translating business requirements into workable, fit for purpose, technical designs and solutions. Have extensive experience on technical solution identification and rationalization.

  • Demonstrate excellent adaptability to a changing and highly dynamic work environment

  • Strong relationship management skills in working with business colleagues, Digital stakeholders, and vendors

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and/or influence decision making

  • Resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as either a team leader or a team player. Fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Other language skills is a plus

  • Ability to work autonomously and work effectively with global teams to get the job done

Formal Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific or technical disciplines. Advanced degree is preferred. Additional professional certificate is a plus

  • 15+ years IT/Digital domain experience in pharmaceutical industry is required including extensive working experience in R&D area (6+ years). Experience in Regulatory Affairs domain is strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical/solution architecture expertise, IT/Digital leadership, partnership with business leaders/stakeholders, and clear and effective communication skills must be demonstrated.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop/Enhance GRA technical strategy and ensure alignment to overall GRA / Digital strategy. Be a champion for helping Sanofi achieve its digital aspirations. Ensure solutions developed are enabling our vision of the future. Be aware of market/industry trends and help apply them as relevant to solving our real-world challenges. Ensure prioritization and alignment of projects/programs to overall strategy and key business objectives.

  • As a senior ITS GRA team member, ensure the global end-to-end consistency of the Digital GRA solutions and services. Work as an adviser/leader/key contributor over the different phases of the IT life cycle: scoping, analysis, technical design, validation, change management, and service operations. Ensure alignment to Digital GRA, and Digital Enterprise Architecture standards and/or recommend changes as needed. Represent Digital GRA in transversal, cross functional meetings.

  • Be an active, trusted advisor and partner to our GRA business colleagues and other Digital supporting functions. Perform ongoing stakeholder management and relationship management through proactive, open communications, transparency, and collaborative problem solving.

  • Accountable for the development of business cases that require relevant analysis, planning, technical solutioning, and alignment to current/future Digital GRA capabilities. Be a strong leader to advocate for relevant prioritization, resourcing, and funding needs.

  • Manage and develop people within the Digital GRA team. Be a positive role model and mentor for less experienced members of the team to foster their development.

  • Drive ongoing continuous improvement for resource efficiencies and cost reduction through the creation of fit for purpose solutions.

  • Other Digital LTs, Enterprise Architects, Digital service teams, Digital Business Partners, Digital Quality, Security, and Procurement.

  • GRA LT, business leaders, stakeholders, and team members

  • Other business teams such as IA, Clinical, GPV, Commercial, and Medical

  • Suppliers / Service Providers (e.g., Veeva, Parexel, Accenture, Cognizant)

  • People management: will have several direct reports requiring adequate people management experience and soft skills to manage and develop people on the team.
