Senior Manager, Medical Affairs – Pain/Physical & Mental Wellness

DEPARTMENT:

North America Scientific Affairs

REPORTS TO:

US Scientific Affairs Head

BASIC FUNCTION:

Inspiring professional who will leverage his/her medical/clinical experience and commercial awareness to proactively contribute to CHC business growth and sustainability.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful candidate will possess strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • He/She will be at ease working in a matrix environment and display the necessary multicultural sensitivity in such a Global context

  • He/She will play an important role in the development and substantiation of medical and scientific product attributes and clinical benefits for the US product portfolio in line with the category vision and consumer needs.

  • He/She will be working for a category and assist across categories and disciplines as needed.

DUTIES:

  • Assist with the enhancement of effective self-care and improved consumer health outcomes through promotion and development of science based, meaningful consumer-oriented products and solutions

  • Contribute to the strategic medical stewardship for the category product portfolio to ensure innovative new product introductions, life cycle management and implementation of empowering consumer-centric self-care solutions

  • Effective collaboration internally and externally to help evolve scientific engagement with key external experts, health authorities and shapers of health care systems

  • Assist with the development and delivery of all required medical activities needed to support the category product portfolio

  • Assist with the development of strategic medical and scientific insights to Product Development for new product ingredients and new technological evaluations

  • Ensure timely response to and triage of all product/formulation related consumer inquiries about product safety, formulation, (non)clinical testing policies and procedures, and potential drug interactions

  • Proactively help to drive the business proposing new claims, anticipating trends, shaping the external healthcare environment

  • Support the development of medical/clinical documents related to tactical product issues & opportunities including matters related to policy, product/project strategy, FDA submission, labeling and advertising.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of claim compendia for the category products ensuring it is complete and accurate.

  • Serves as an educational resource to both internal and external customers.

  • Proactively help identify future medical trends, competitive intelligence and changing therapeutic paradigms to assist with product innovation and rbusiness protection

  • Works hand-in-hand with the Canadian Science Affairs team helping drive 1 team in North America.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D., Pharm.D., FNP, RN, or equivalent healthcare degree

  • Knowledge of clinical drug development, pharmacovigilance, risk benefit assessment, regulatory framework for pharmacological products and promotional product claims

  • Up to 5 years of experience in clinical functions supporting Consumer Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
