Senior Director, GoToMarket Specialty Analytics

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director, GoToMarket Specialty Analytics has deep expertise in digital and multi channel marketing, especially in the context of influencing data driven decisions around digital strategy. The incumbent will have multiple direct reports and will be responsible for driving innovative analytics in a brand new and growing space within our Global Analytic COE. He/she will be responsible for creation of analytic solutions with US and Ex-US based digital, marketing and business unit leaders. More specifically:

  • Leverage marketing analytics & technical experience, including a broad skillset that combines statistical, data science and computational expertise, to enable the development and implementation of analytics that driver strategies to optimize the delivery of key information & messages to HCPs and other customers to improve patient outcomes.

  • Work with Data Scientists on the team to develop new analytical capabilities, including performing data manipulation, statistical analyses, model building, visualizations and presentations.

  • Partner with broader analytics team as needed.

  • Inform decisions on how to best leverage internal "next best action" AI/ML capabilities to optimize campaign execution and impact.

  • Support the development and execution of new marketing analytics approaches, including initial development, field execution, testing & refinement using data.

  • Perform analytics to support promotion/marketing optimization, including optimizing the message, timing, channel of delivery and other aspects to maximize the impact of the information to drive improved patient outcomes.

  • Perform analytics to test the effectiveness of novel tactics (e.g., AB testing), and perform analyses to identify opportunities to iteratively-refine the solution.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure analyses are aligned to business needs.

The Senior Director, GoToMarket Specialty Analytics will need to have excellent communication and consultative skills, leadership skills and have a passion for driving creative analytic solutions to difficult business problems. He/she will also need to be highly driven in creating change through influence across the organization with a wide array of stakeholders. Deriving proper inference, expertise in creating a story based on analysis and developing clear presentations will be critical skills. He/she will be working with Senior leadership to drive strategic implementation. ’The disease space consists of rare disease, oncology and other therapeutic areas that involve disparate and complex data sources. The incumbent will need to have a deep understanding of patient level data, HCP level data, account data and a wide variety of digital promotion data.

Competencies & Skills:

  • Experience with marketing analytics, including approaches to optimize the delivery of messages (including across channels), support the execution of new promotional strategies based on analytics, test/refine/optimize the solution after initial deployment.

  • Proven ability and training in generating advanced insight from statistical models, including (but not limited to) multivariate linear regression, cluster algorithms, decision trees, logistic regression, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), time series, survival analysis, machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), Bayesian Methods, Neural Networks, etc.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical computing and numerical analysis.

  • Experience with using software development principles to develop maintainable, reproducible and expandable code.

  • Ability to develop frameworks for steering complex analytics projects.

  • Ability to translate high-level directions into specific actions that drive results.

  • Ability to independently extend analyses beyond what was initially directed when appropriate.

  • Ability to generate clear visualizations and concisely summarize findings of complex analyses.

  • Analytical thinker with an abundance of intellectual curiosity.

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, with strong customer focus and the ability to build strong relationships and networks across the organization and externally.

  • Ability to learn technical and analytical skills from others on the team, both formally and informally.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree or Ph. D. in highly technical/quantitative discipline, for example Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Systems Biology, Biophysics, Econometrics, or Operations Research.

  • 15+ years of experience with complex marketing analytical projects including advanced data analysis and statistical modeling in a healthcare setting, especially specialty pharmaceuticals.

  • Demonstrated experience working on teams performing complex, multi-staged analyses.

  • Several years’ experience with leading, mentoring and managing and/or team building.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with statistical computing, data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, statistical modeling, regression-type analysis, model interpretation.

  • Expertise in developing complex analyses in R, SAS or other programming languages. Python experience is also a plus.

Desired:

  • Experience with syndicated pharmaceutical industry data sets (e.g., from IQVIA, Symphony, etc.) preferred

  • Experience with patient longitudinal data, specialty pharmacy data, patient claims data
