Sanofi Group Regional Category Buyer Media & Communications, Bridgewater, NJ in Bridgewater, New Jersey

The Regional Category Buyer is responsible for executing procurement strategies for the categories, representing investments around 100M€.

This includes activities such as but not limited to processes optimization, best practices definition & implementation, resources development, compliance to operational standards, insight generation and program lead.

His/her role will be to maximize value to the various worldwide businesses and activities within a leveraged collaboration with all operational Business partners.

The supported businesses include all Sanofi new Global BUs using this type of services.

Operational Excellence

  • Develops and provides supplier market trends information to help build the relevant strategy

  • Carries out the most strategic negotiations with the relevant support from the Marketing and Sales Procurement team and category lead buyers.

  • Enables the excellence of execution of the strategy via a network

  • Provides broad guidelines for objective setting and performance level definition

  • Ensures that support, methodology, best practices, expertise, and training to the procurement network is deployed

  • Drives the development of new opportunities (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc )

  • Understands, assess and challenges needs to sure appropriateness.

  • Establishes key priorities and supplier management strategies.

Business Partnering

  • Develops strong relationship with his/hers business partners at regional levels. Ensures upstream procurement integration within the business strategy definition process

Management

  • Defines the detailed objectives for their procurement of categories

  • Ensures support, methodology, best practices, expertise, and training to the procurement colleagues as necessary

  • Works transversally with other procurement domains when relevant

Operational

  • Ensures the accurate and permanent understanding of spends and trends

  • Ensures an efficient reporting on performances, risks and opportunities

  • Ensures the compliance to contracts to be executed

External partners

  • Develops collaborative relationship with strategic partners

  • Set up and follow up metrics of the partnerships

Compliance

  • Develops and aligns plans for the implementation of the global procurement policies within the Domain and oversees the process of doing so.

  • Maintains comprehensives understanding of Global Policies/Processes related to Risk/CSR/Compliance and ensures that these are adhered to across the Domain

  • Collaborates with the relevant Global Category Managers (GCMs) to ensure that Global Policies/Processes that are owned by the Domain are up to date and aligned

  • Coordinates with each GCM the follow-up of required vendor evaluation processes such as they are related to Risk/CSR/Compliance

Sourcing Intelligence

  • Collaborates with colleagues within and across Domains in order to identify and benchmark practices so as to identify areas of improvement.

  • Supports the deployment of the Procurement Digital roadmap within the Domain

  • Identifies means by which and undertakes benchmarking against other industries.

  • Promotes a positive agenda within Marketing community, ensuring proper communication and best practices sharing

  • Instill challenger mindset and cooperates with Procurement Excellence team to bring external perspective in Marketing community

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in procurement or equivalent.

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Understanding of communication, media and PR agency landscape

  • Knowledge of best in class Procurement techniques and processes

  • Proven ability to influence across all Management levels and across Business functions

  • Demonstrable skills in leading and deploying change management initiatives related to accountabilities of the role

  • Strong communicator with ability to adapt style and approach according to audience

  • Consistency of focus upon delivery of outcomes and results

  • High level of analytical skills and ability to utilize tools/systems accordingly

  • Ability to work independently to multiple time-scales on multiple concurrent priorities/projects

  • Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills and then disseminate to others in an easily understood fashion

  • Holds an international and multicultural mindset and experience

  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to challenge the status quo

  • Possesses strong competency in networking across various stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
