Product Owner – Evolution

The Product Owner – Evolution will be responsible to evolve the eCommerce program to deliver seamless and personalized digital experiences with added business value, maintain strict compliance with regulations by country and mitigate risks. The Deployment POD is responsible for advancement of deployed platforms aligned with Play to Win, new capabilities that grow CORE capabilities, market specific differentiating capabilities and management of legacy solution. The Product Owner – Evolution is a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog. (S)He has a significant role in quality control and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done.

eCommerce Evolution POD Ambitions:

  • Anticipate future digital disruption: Evolve deployments by adding capabilities to limit impacts of external disruption while also deploying capabilities that create market disruption in favor of Sanofi.

  • Drive business: Deploy new capabilities in existing markets to capture additional revenue and opportunities through digital.

  • Build strong differentiation & customer loyalty: Continually enhance the customer experience on existing deployments to set Sanofi apart from competition, increase customer loyalty and attach new business.

  • Deliver cost savings and compliance: continually optimize deployments to increase automation while driving down time to market, cost to evolve deployments and to be complaint.

eCommerce Evolution POD deliverables (may include but not limited to):

  • Customer Survey Integration.

  • Fluzone locator and reservation.

  • Usability Enhancements – rolling every 2 weeks June - July timeframe.

  • Prioritize & Deploy 80 story points a month.

eCommerce Evolution POD Key Performance Indicators :

  • Agile project management focused on achieving project deliverables

  • Story points completed and deployed.

  • Incident rate.

  • Achievement of budget targets

  • Agile project management focused on achieving enhancements scheduled dates.

  • Adoption of technology by internal users and external customers.

Primary Responsibilities & Key Characteristics:

  • Owns the “Product” from a “What” and “Why” perspective (accountable for vision and requirements) for their specified product, or component (if multiple delivery teams involved in solution delivery)

  • Works with scrum master and engineering delivery team daily, answering questions, addressing ambiguities, and being readily available when issues arise that could delay the project.

  • Is accountable for delivering incremental value every sprint, aligning with the overall goals from the business.

  • Can negotiate Yes/No with the Business and/or the Digital Towers.

  • Works closely and owns relationship with Customer Experience.

  • Owns backlog prioritization of work.

  • Creates requirements and Jira stories.

  • Keeps the vision of the product up to date.

  • Owns of roadmap and sprint priorities.

  • Ensures follow up and reporting of KPI.

  • Ensures that Digital Product/computerized system meets all controls to address applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.) and cybersecurity requirements.

  • Work closely with all global business unit stakeholders to define and solution user requirements.

  • Maintains awareness of industry trends and the availability of potential new disruptive technology.


General Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of experience working with diverse business units, business case development and rollout / adoption planning of systems or products.

  • Able to work in a global environment including the ability to maintain global relationships and understand different business models that may vary by region and business unit.

  • Applied use of Agile methodology.

Functional Knowledge / Skills in the following areas:

  • Experience as Product Owner.

  • Experience with web development preferable in the eCommerce area.

  • Good knowledge of B2B and or B2C eCommerce business knowledge and best practices.

  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Understand and live Agile methodology.

  • Be able to write clear and easily understandable user stories.

  • Comfortable from one-on-one to large group presentations.

  • Experience of running workshops to gather requirements, e.g. user story workshops.

  • Experience of full life cycle projects from initial scoping through to delivery.

  • Experience in launching and / or supporting eCommerce platforms.

  • Beginner to intermediate JIRA and Confluence.

  • Interest in technical topics.

  • Interest in hands-on experience.

  • Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly known as SAP Hybris Commerce Cloud) functional and technical experience a plus.

  • Experience with at least 1 major integration point between an eCommerce application and Order Management, Warehouse Management, Financial, Retail Systems, ERP, payment services or CRM.

  • Integration technologies (SAP CPI, Tibco, Informatica Cloud, etc).

  • High level understanding of software development principles and lifecycle, web development technologies / frameworks, APIs, and common web technologies essential to building seamless multi-channel experiences.

  • Experience with SAP ECC, S/4 HANA a plus.
