NA Procurement Business Partner / Lead Buyer for Market Research


The Procurement function aims at enabling the Sanofi strategy by leveraging the supplier markets and delivering added value throughout operations performed within Central, Global, and Local US Units, pillars of its organization.

  • The Central Unit is in charge of setting a vision and objectives aligned with the strategy of Sanofi and insuring function excellence by identifying and implementing the most advanced best practices in Resource Management, Sourcing, Process & System, Communication and Performance Analysis.

  • Global Procurement Unit is in charge of designing and implementing the procurement strategies per category aligned with the business LRPs through a worldwide network of lead buyers and category managers.

  • Local US Procurement Unit is in charge of executing and implementing the global purchasing strategies locally, developing active relationships with local stakeholders, and contributing to the integration of the newly acquired business.

These units have a common goal of business partnering, managed at strategic and operational levels, designed to set deep collaborative and innovative relationship with the business and central functions.

To boost procurement efficiency and performance, the procurement organization fosters the right level of globalization through a category management oriented operating model leveraging the management of resources through competencies, localization, internal mobilities and talent development

Manages all Procurement demand of a site of a given business and ensures compliance to national contracts at the site. Perform Procurement activities within his/her Marketing and Sales scope (Local procurement categories) according to the defined policies and processes including maintaining the interface between vendor markets and internal customers, and Procurement Management ensuring the procurement of services at the best market conditions (Quality, Service, Cost, Delivery and Innovation).


The Lead Buyer for Market Research will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining projects and purchasing processes for this spend category, across all US business units. These activities include partnering with the internal Marketing and Market Research teams to support their objectives and build project scopes, conducting Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, negotiating rate cards/discount schedules, and managing overall relationships with key suppliers. The Lead Buyer will oversee all supplier Master Service Agreements for this category, and monitor service levels accordingly. The Lead Buyer will also play an active role in implementing Global Market Research strategies across the US, as well as ensuring ongoing compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all other Procurement policies.

  • Strategy => Manage his/her products/services/vendors portfolio and make suggestions to optimize it.

  • By analyzing KPIs of current vendors and recommending the related action plan

  • Business Partnering:

  • Develop strong partnerships with his/her key internal customers at the BU level with the support of Category Mgmt

  • Identify at year end, the needs, key projects &business objectives of internal customers for the following year

  • Perform a spend analysis and develop sourcing plans to ensure customer satisfaction and obtain the best value

  • Attend key internal customer meetings/committees to understand business obj and share relevant procurement data

  • Present Procurement strategies for major Procurement segments to key internal customers for review/approval

  • Ensure reporting and promote significant facts to inform customers and responsible parties on his/her activity.

  • By reporting on his/her specific activity and KPIs

  • By communicating immediate and concise reports on critical issues

  • By providing his/her Internal Customers with an accurate spend map

  • Develop the acquisition and the mastering of main job, products/services/markets techniques to ensure a high level of service.

  • By identifying specific needs of training/development

  • By participating actively to local improvement projects

  • By attending conventions, seminars or other public events related to his/her activity and sharing key information through a concise report with appropriate correspondents.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Enforce the related procurement policies/guides/procedures, communicate it to Internal Customers and maintain it to ensure their effectiveness.

  • By writing and updating local policies/guides/procedures and general documents

  • By organizing the relationship between Internal Customers, buyers and vendors


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university

Job Related Experience

Two (2) plus years minimum of procurement experience or related field.
