Sanofi Genzyme has a robust pipeline in Oncology as well with marketed products in prostate and colorectal cancer as well as novel compounds being explored in several tumor types including rare tumors such as cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) as well as other common cancers types, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer and multiple myeloma.

Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will be accountable for strategic oversight of Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) studies to support US value propositions of Sanofi Genzyme’s oncology products (in-license and with pipeline indications) Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategies and provide new ideas and concepts, on HEOR initiatives to support the oncology franchise (new and existing products) for the US Business.

  • Set strategic evidence generation priorities and direction to support launches as well as existing products.

  • Ability to incorporate the evidence generation plan and priorities into appropriate corporate planning documents in full alignment with product / brand strategy and close collaboration with matrix teams: US V&A leads, US Medical, & global HEVA team.

  • Take a leadership role in the development of relationships and continued advocacy with external advisors in immunology or oncology

  • Develop collaborative research relationships that provide data of value to US decision makers

  • Leverage interactions to identify strategies that will improve the impact of research and build advocates for data

  • Ensure patients, providers, and US payer perspective are included in HEVA and clinical plans, in particular via interaction with HTA-like bodies (i.e ICER, pre-submission consultations, etc.) in collaboration with US V&A, project team and relevant regions/key affiliates

  • Interacts with senior level management providing high level strategies and long term vision for oncology portfolio.

  • Stay on top of US environment (e.g. ICER updates) which impact HEOR studies and bring the insights to the broader HEOR team

  • Coordinates execution of key HEVA US activities in collaboration with expert functions (modelling, PROss, RWE), and global HEVA when appropriate

  • Engages with affiliates to support reimbursement dossier submission and answering questions/ overcoming HTA body objections to support optimal reimbursement

  • Ensures feasibility of translating evidence generated into real world effectiveness and cost effectiveness arguments

  • Drives development of AMCP Dossier, from inception to dissemination and training to US customer facing field teams

  • Serves as a resource to commercial organization in terms of positioning and reimbursement of products based on economic evaluations

  • All incumbents are expected to demonstrate effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • The incumbent is expected to work independently, but in concert with the direction provided by their management, in accordance with defined functional policies and precedents, budgetary guidelines, company values, ethics and applicable law.

Communications:

Responsible for the design of a HEVA Communication/Publication Plan with the objective to communicate the unique attributes of oncology or immunology products to external multi-stakeholders to ensure the drug’s value proposition will be recognized and hence market access and market uptake will be maximized

  • Demonstrated contribution to product success

  • Development and execution of HEVA strategies and tactics that address data gaps and fulfill stakeholder needs

  • Proactive communication and alignment with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong ability to partner with the project teams and develop/present HEOR strategies and options

  • Recognized scientific expertise and influence within cross-functional teams

  • Established track record of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals

  • Compliance with all relevant internal SOPs

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of combined experience in health economics, outcomes research, or directly market access field in pharmaceutical industry

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline

  • Clinical background should be supplemented with advanced quantitative training demonstrated by an MPH or MS in a relevant field

  • Oncology experience required Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating experience in PROs, observational research, and/or health economics

  • Thorough knowledge of global HTA and US processes and guidelines. Direct experience in making submissions to relevant payers and interacting with them is strongly desired

  • Strong ability to partner with the business and develop/present HEVA strategies and options

  • Demonstrated capabilities to develop global strategic HEVA plans and execute studies

  • Immunology experience would be preferred.

  • Documented training in Health Economics desired

  • Proficiency in decision modeling and input into clinical trials

  • Proven scientific publication record

  • Experience with patient reported outcomes

Skills & Competencies:

  • English fluent, both written and oral

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills essential. Significant experience making presentations to senior management is strongly desired

  • Strong ability to partner with the business and develop/present HEVA strategies and options

  • Results oriented and excellent analytic and collaboration skills

  • Broad knowledge of Health economics and Outcomes research methodology

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical development strategies and trial designs

  • Understanding of medical and statistical scientific methodology

  • In-depth understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry, demonstrated integrity on work-related compliance considerations and solid ethics

  • Entrepreneurial and team spirit and ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems

  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed work environment

  • Self-motivated, acts autonomously and prioritize
