Sanofi Group HEAD OF RISK ASSESSMENT & OPERATIONS in Bridgewater, New Jersey

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for assessing CHC business RISK and develop specific mitigation plans for the CHC GBU. The position will closely work with Global EBI and Global Legal for ensuring an alignment with Sanofi ‘s code of ethics and values. The position will transversally work with various functions within the CHC GBU and beyond. The position will develop CHC specific auditing and monitoring plans. The position will closely work with Sanofi EBI Network for monitoring the country compliance environment, reviewing alerts on help line, supporting investigations and developing action plans for risk mitigation. The position will organize compliance committee meetings and prepare required information. The position will support implementing all elements of Compliance Program in CHC GBU.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessing Business Risks: Regularly interact with stakeholders to understand business environment and identify key compliance risks through adequate regulatory watch and networking with Industry Forums.

  • Establishing the Compliance framework for the CHC GBU, including establishing the Compliance Committee and associated Charter.

  • Assist implementing and fully operationalizing the 8 elements of an effective compliance program specially focusing on;

  • Effective lines of communication- Help Line

  • Internal monitoring and auditing

  • Enforcement standards through well publicized disciplinary guidelines

  • Prompt response to detected problems through corrective actions

  • Compliance Committee

  • Risk Assessment

  • Collaborate with Sanofi EBI Network for investigations relating to potential violations of CHC policies, standards or procedures or other Compliance issues in all areas, including but not limited to fraud and abuse, product promotion and other regulatory matters.

  • Collaborate with Sanofi Global / Regional / Country EBI network for implementing CHC auditing and monitoring plan.

  • Collaborate with Legal function as ONE LEBI Team.

  • Collaborate with Group Internal Audit for pre- audit planning, assist during the audit and support post audit “Actions on agreed audit recommendations”.

  • Working Transversally with all functions for reaching census on Risk identification and mitigation /remediation framework.

  • Working closely with industry forums and contributing effectively for shaping the CHC compliance program.

  • Familiarize and develop understanding of relevant laws in key markets (USA, Europe, International) to ensure CHC policies provide assurance compliance with these laws.

  • Any other jobs which may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience with human healthcare industries

  • Substantive knowledge of applicable laws and industry guidance in the US relating to healthcare and life science business, plus familiarity with the International life science or CHC marketplace

  • Working knowledge of the US & International healthcare compliance considerations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JD, Business Degree and/or CPA

  • Demonstrated ability to (i) understand and analyze complex scenarios (ii) propose solutions that support the relevant business objectives coupled with ethical considerations and (iii) conflict management

  • Team player with a commitment to developing strong collaborative relationships

  • Ability to organize, coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams

  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and still meet high quality and timeliness standards under pressure
