Sanofi Group Global Head - Rx to OTC Switches in Bridgewater, New Jersey

To lead Sanofi Consumer Healthcare (CHC) global RX to OTC Switch function comprising of both the currently active projects as well as exploration of new territories within the 4 strategic areas of Digestive, Pain, Cough & Cold / Allergy & Nutritionals.

This role is a key leadership position responsible for the cross functional switch team comprising of Business Lead, Medical, Regulatory, PV and Category. The direct reports (individual project leads) are based out of the US, Europe and Japan.

This is a pivotal position to help Sanofi Consumer Healthcare (CHC) realize its mission to become the best consumer healthcare business in the world and be the leader in transformative RX-OTC switch.

Rx-to-OTC current switch projects:

  • Lead the 3 significant switch projects in the active pipeline to fruition.

  • Define Sanofi CHC’s switch strategy on a global level comprising of both the near term and long term growth drivers.

  • Oversee further switch projects being developed at a more regional/local level

  • Set up a successful operating model that allows for review and progress across each of the 4 identified strategic areas of Digestive, Pain, Cough & Cold/ Allergy and Nutritionals. Ensure projects are reviewed in the right forums with cross functional teams and timely review process is in place involving the executive group

  • Guarantee a successful collaboration with the Switch partner (where relevant)

  • Leverage new technologies and tools to further enhance switch projects.

New avenues exploration:

  • Identify and explore other transformational new switch opportunities in the 4 categories. To succeed in this area, it will be important to stay close to the competitive environment and CHC’s own business priorities. An important element is to be able to monitor and interpret changes in the healthcare policy in focus markets.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire the cross functional team and direct reports on switches to deliver high performance; set objectives for the team and for individuals, measure achievement and offe necessary support

  • Transversal team leadership is key in this role – as this position collaborates with almost all the functions within the business


  • Direct experience in leading large scale switch projects within multinational OTC/pharma industry is a must.

  • Additional commercial leadership (category head, marketing head etc) experience highly desired

  • Minimum 12 years professional experience

  • Knowledge and experience outside the US highly desired

  • Experience in creatively leveraging emerging technologies to accelerate the data & scientifically driven switch process in the US (e.g. comprehension, self-recognition, self-selection, and appropriate use).


  • Business degree, MBA is a plus

  • Additional scientific credentials are a plus

  • Flexible to work across time zones and travel frequently locally and internationally as needed.

  • Ability to operate strategically and executionally. The team will be relatively new so a lot of close coordination and ‘leading by example’ may be needed.

  • Strong mental agility and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing business environment

  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal is a must.
