Sanofi Group Director, U.S. Corporate Social Responsibility Engagement in Bridgewater, New Jersey

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, U.S. Corporate Social Responsibility Engagement is both a strategic and hands-on role responsible for developing and bringing to life employee and community engagement programs, that will inspire and drive Sanofi U.S. employees to use their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and tactics that advance employee engagement, both internally and externally, through national and local programs that are aligned to the company’s CSR priorities, culture and mission of Empowering Life. Building upon current engagement offerings, the role will partner with key internal stakeholders such as Human Resources, Inclusion & Diversity, and External Affairs to ensure all programs have pull-through across the U.S. organization including business units, field personnel, manufacturing and distribution centers. In addition, the Director will assess and report on engagement impact, play a lead role in representing Sanofi with external organizations and associations, and work with the Head of U.S. CSR in the development of key public/private signature efforts designed to position Sanofi as an authentic and committed leader in the communities in which it operates.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategy and tactics for Sanofi U.S. Empowering Our Communities employee engagement program including assessment of current offerings and recommendations for moving forward

  • Plan and execute new national and local employee engagement programs in line with the U.S. CSR priorities

  • Partner with Human Resources to develop annual service opportunities that could include (but are not limited) a U.S. company-wide Week of Service, Skills-based Volunteering and Board Service programs

  • Work with Head of U.S. CSR to a develop national signature program(s) with external partners integrating focused CSR priority areas with employee activation

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Employee Resource Groups and Inclusion & Diversity to advance shared priorities through employee engagement

  • Oversee the operational management of the employee giving portal which includes Matching Gifts, Volunteer GIVE program, and other company-sponsored engagement efforts

  • Develop and manage evaluation measures and tools to assess and report on the impact of engagement programs

  • Work with N.A. Communications on annual plan to communicate employee engagement efforts via intranet and various social media channels

  • Interact with senior executives and represent company to key external stakeholders

  • Proactive self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment, comfortable collaborating across all departments and function levels

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

  • Between 8-10 years of experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, preferably in the healthcare sector and volunteer management

  • A minimum of 5 years of strategizing, developing, and managing employee engagement and giving programs

  • Direct experience in building signature CSR engagement programs aligned to the company’s business priorities with multiple external partners

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple high visibility/high-impact projects with limited supervision

  • Experience in developing strong, respectful relationships, to inspire confidence and build trust among key internal stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Passionate, creative and committed with strong ability to lead, influence and inspire

  • Strong written communication and presentation skills

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in teams and collaborate across functions

  • Positive can-do attitude a must

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The position is based in Bridgewater, NJ and requires some travel to other Sanofi U.S. sites.
